While everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I don't understand all the mean spirits against my favorite pony in the last two seasons. One example that is often brought up recently are the scene when she jousts with Fluttershy, so many people seem to think she is being to mean in this scene. I beg to differ, Dash do tend to push Fluttershy beyond her comfort zone, yes, but she has good intentions. Ever since dragonshy Dashie has had a very high opinion of Fluttershy, Rainbow knows she is stronger and tougher than anypony sees, including Fluttershy herself, Rainbow just want her to realize she has potential. If anything Dashie is the only pony that treat Fluttershy with the respect she deserves, while everypony else(with the possible exception of some of thhe other Mane6) treat her as she is made of glass. No, I don't see Rainbow as being mean at all. She is a loving and considerate pony, even though she may tend to be too direct in her approach. I think Fluttershy appriciates what she has done for her. So do anyone else appriciate our cute aspiring athlete? If you do dislike her, please explain why, I like to hear how you could stay mad at this.
I like she was my favorite Pom until sister hooves social. I have no issue with the way she acts or what she does. Then again I like Trixie and Diamond Tiara, so what do I know.
FlutterDash is best friendship. Rainbow Dash is a little bit of *****, but she is a lovable *****. She is a little bit mean sometimes, but this seems to really come from just being blunt with her opinions and she really does have a sincere care about her friends will being in the long run, even if it takes being a little bit rough in the present.
I have absouletely no problem with Dashie, in fact, she is right behind Twilight for being my favorite pony. Yes she can be blunt, but I see no problem with that.
Actually, ever since Quill's story "Game Night" every now and then I picture Dash as a unicorn who tries to cast Fireball at every occasion. My gosh, I loved her antics when she was in the hospital with the book. I think the only episode giving her a bad name in my opinion is the Mare-Do-Well episode. Though, honestly, I think it's her friends who come off as a little harsh in methods in that episode. (One of the only episodes I'm not fond of.)
I never heard anyone give crap about Dashie being too mean. If anything I think she gets too much praise sometimes. She was my favorite in the very beginning and will always be my favorite.

Still, I don't think any of the other Mane6 is critized the way Dashie is. I just covered the main thing I usually hear. The other thing she is often accused of is being a narcissist, not entirely true in my opinion though she has high self asteem, a trait I value highly in a girl, especially with society in general trying to essentially force girls into being compliant and pushing them to low self esteem. I feel the so-called "narcissistic" traits in Dash serve as kind of a rolemodel for female empowerment. For guys like me, who society tends to push in the opposite direction, girls like Rainbow are like a dream, she is strong, so I don't have to feel I have to be because she does not need me to protect her, she would protect me, and we would both be happy with that. I guess this is one of the reasons I like Rainbow so much, she is my ideal girl. I generally feel that though Rainbow's pride and confidence are among her weaknesses they are also among her greatest strenghts.
RD has the same problem as Trixie *only not to the same radical extent thankfully* She's just gets a bit full of herself, partially out of personality, partially out of attempt to help ignore self-doubt and what not. I like Dash myself, but I can see why some fans don't.
Well said. Your examination of your reasons for appreciating Rainbow Dash are commendable. It also proves that this series has farly three-dimensional characters (not talking about graphics,) which is a good improvement. I like Fluttershy most, but I haven't really looked into it too much. I think because she's quiet and unassuming most of the time, but has a lot of courage hidden that she can show when the time most counts on her. Plus, she's way smarter than she's given credit for, and far more talented that most ponies can see. However, she doesn't (usually) let her own weaknesses get in her way, and as long as she has her friends she's happy. A simple pleasures girl, but smart enough to keep up with things. Now you have me psychoanalyzing myself. Bah! If I'd harsh on anypony it'd be Rarity... honestly. I can't though, because I like all of the Mane 6.
Some people don't like Dashie because she was arrogant for a couple of episodes in season 2. But if each of the mane 6 were perfect, how would Twilight learn anything? I like Dashie, but some don't. It's just the way it is.
She's my second least favourite character for this reason , i mean, she was a lot more likeable in the first season; she had a few insecurities which every has, and she was a little bit more innocent, now she's a pushover-egomaniac, what happened to the dashie i knew and loved? ;_;
Can you elaborate on why you think this is the case? What exactly did she do in season two which made you draw this conclusion? In season 2, as far as I know, she learned to value loyalty above all else in a pet and in friends, had her self worth temporarily crushed by said friends, justified or not, and learned to enjoy reading. Hardly that terrible if you ask me. (I don't count Commander Hurricane as Rainbow Dash) You can have your own opinion, I am just curious as to why?
It's as simple as one word for me: Ego. She's so very self-confident that it goes to the point of looking down on others too often for my taste. She only really shows humility when she's forcibly brought down to earth by her friends most of the time. I also find her much too aggressive and rash, and that causes problems that could easily be avoided sometimes. I know she has a good heart, and it shows from time to time, but I just don't like her over-inflated ego.
She reminds me of me, and that's why I dislike her sometimes. She's brash, overconfident, and rude a majority of the time. Some would call it an endearing character trait. I call it being frustratingly difficult to like. But then again, I just don't like her that much. I still do, but meh.
Dash is one of my favorite ponies. I always thought she was the most realistic to an actual person in her personality. I always thought she was nice to Fluttershy and was just pushing her out of her comfort zone to try new things. I suspect Rainbow Dash knows how great Fluttershy could be and doesn't like to coddle her and enable her like some of the other mane 6 might. I've also seen her acknowledge more of Fluttershy's accomplishments than some of the other ponies. She reminds me of me in many ways, so I can't hate on her.
Well, Rainbow Dash is, along side Pinkie Pie most popular pony among Croatia Bronies. Personally, I'm kinda neutral towards her, maybe bit more to like her. Yes, she went too far in May The Best Pet Win episode (for me), but she learned her lesson in the end. She si bit too self confident and all, but a) not like Trixie, b) she knows where to stop herself (like in hurricane Fluttershy, she gave up after she saw that Fluttershy didn't wan to take part). Also, sometimes, she's able to see her own mistakes and lean from them which is defiantly positive for her.
Dashie gets stuff done. She says what needs to be said, and doesn't beat around the bush. I like that.
