Okay, i was just on Facebook when some random guy messaged me about liking MLP and Metal music. You guys would agree that WATCHING MLP has NOTHING to do with LISTENING to Metal right? I mean, i listen to Everypony Radio because i like to hear what kind of brony music has been made or has come out. And i like a show on [adult swim] called Metalocalypse. I am a HUGE fan of the show. But the guy said i should be ashamed for liking both MLP and Metalocalypse because Metalocalypse is a heavy metal/brutal/gorey/ funny show and is not approved for kids. But MLP is a playful/ fun/ colorful/ funny show which is AMAZING! I am sincerely inpressed with how big the show has gotten; Especially on the internet. But back to my topic, should i be ashamed for liking MLP? Or should i keep walking as a proud brony?
My question is who the hell is he for thinking that he can tell someone what to like and what not to? Keep up that brony pride!
NEVER EVER EVER be ashamed for being an MLP fan. That guy is sadly misinformed. So just because you like "children's cartoons" AND more mature things means You should be ashamed?!? Ridiculous! You simply have a wide variety of tastes and interests. Just because you love metal doesn't mean it should be the only thing you're allowed to have an interest in. Hold your head up high as a fan of whatever you like, don't let the opinions of others influence who you are. If they don't like it, then something is wrong with them, not you. Hopefully my rambling made a bit of sense...

I don't see problem on liking completely different things. I like mlp, and in same time Jackass, South Park (although not new episodes, they are boring), Robot Chicken (also on [adult swim]) and Dudesons. I don't see why someone should be ashamed of liking completely different things. as a mater of fact on my facebook page, on shows I like, mlp is right next to south park and robot chicken.
Wow, well than that's just even more reason to be proud of what you like. If any guy can just walk up to someone and point out how "weird" it is that they like something....well, that's another level of stupidity beyond the norm. Well you can like whatever you want to like. I like punk and MLP, I'm pretty sure they are mostly opposites. I say walk around a proud brony and just ignore what haters say.
Dude, I actually enjoyed the Cupcakes fanfic and before that many other disgusting, gory and horrid fanfic. I also like gory horror and my taste in music ranges from girly ballads to hard rock. So liking MLP doesn't need to have anything to do with your other interests. Depending on my mood and can feel like watching something cute and adorable and other times want the see people get shredded in a giant fan. There is room for both extremes.
Ashamed?? Why of course not! I am a pony lover with an addiction to metal music along with dark art, horror films, destructive weather, and depressing philosophies... I don't see any reason why one should be ashamed of having a nice mix of interests. :]
I think we're all in agreement here that you can tell that guy where to go - far, far away, with no internet connection. And nothing but "Hogan's Heroes" to watch on TV.

I also like MLP:FiM along with liking metal, so your not alone. Nothing says "I love MLP" than browsing MLP sites and listening to bands like Slayer, Morbid Angel, etc. Also, one time I was wearing a Pinkie Pie shirt while wearing a Slayer hat. Like a boss!
Well, I guess this is another good reason to have private messages on Facebook disabled for those that aren't your friends— random strangers that think it's their business to tell you what is acceptable and what isn't. Who the hell does this person think he is? This question is super-easy. Should you be ashamed? NO! I'm sorry, I don't think this forum has a text-size large enough to answer the question properly. By the way, I too like [Adult Swim] and I like Metalocalypse. I also love alternative, metal, punk and rock music. I love severe weather. Do these have anything to do with MLP:FIM? No. I don't know how much you value other peoples' opinions of you, but in my case, I could not care less what a random stranger in society thinks of me. It's none of their damn business. I'm sorry if this posts comes off as a bit angry, but this kind of thing just gets on my nerves. People should just butt-out of other peoples' business. Seriously. /Rant Over
