I love AdBlock and believe it is the most useful addon available. While ads are important for companies and such, they are annoying and we see way too many of them. It also blocks ads that are dangerous, spam, or those that may contain spyware/viruses. If websites begin blocking the use of adblock, I'm sure the creators will find ways around it. And frankly, if websites begin blocking adblock, I'll stop going to those sites.
I think it's silly. I was on facebook the other day and got stopped. They told me to delete adblock off my computer so that they could, blah blah something or other. I ignored it and went on with my day and never deleted adblock... Which I had no idea I had. So really. Sites making a fuss over adblock is silly. I know that ads are what bring major revenue to the sites so that they can pay the bills, but then there's places that have no ads, no membership fee, but the site cost a lot of money to make. Like for example, if I'm correct, to create a message board using vBulletin like EP does, costs $100+ And I don't see any members having to pay to join here. So the sites whining about it can just get the fluff over it.
They "try" to make them more "appealing", but in reality the sound/video ads are just annoying. Especially when you can't stop/click them out or the accidental mouse-over causes them to cover the screen with no choice but to either click it or refresh the page.
So basically these sites are putting the guys who run Adblock out of business. I'm pretty sure that they can't do that! Oh well they want ads they can have ads. I just won't be the one to see them XD.
Hmm, adblock still seems to work in Firefox, so it's just the Chrome adblock that has suddenly stopped working (mostly)...weird... ...Huh? What's that?...OH! Right! On-topic! Um...yeah, I don't like this. At all. :derpe:
Blegh, ads I got a crap-ton of Malware warnings specifically from ads, and now they want to FORCE me to see them? ._. Oh well, it IS the internet after all.
