    So, like I said in the general chat thread, I dug out a Skateboard I bought years ago, and never used much.
    And I'm planning on trying to get a use for it again (i.e. faceplanting some) xD
    I just did the easiest thing first, and googled for some information^^ and I found this:
    http://skateboard.about.com/od/tricktips/ss/JustStartingOut.htm
    I do have a friend, who Skates regularly (he's even Skating for the Team of a Skateshop) an I'll surely ask him, but I was just wondering, if anyone here Skates, and could maybe give me some advice (and maybe tell me, if the info on that link is any good)^^
    (or this could also be a general Skating-thread, posting pics, disuccing etc. not necessarily only Skateboarding but also things like freestyle-BMX, inline-skating, etc.))

    Yes, my good man!
    I skateboard in the Summer to pass time. Not much of a trick person, myself (FRIGGIN' KICKFLIPS), but I can ride pretty darn well! :D

    Advice... hm, well I'm starting skating again this weekend, lemme think...
    Ah! Tip: Don't jump the gun. Some tricks look awesome but you can't run before you can walk, so take it one step at a time.
    Also, YouTube videos are helpful, but it's best you get told what to do, then do it again and again and again, you then gain your own style of riding, and performing tricks.

    Oh yeah, I skate ALOT except in winter :/ As for learning tricks, I would suggest just going for it if you know what I mean, try and teach yourself, that's how I got good at it. Safety gear is pretty much optional, I don't wear it when I skate street, and when I go to a local indoor park, I have to wear it, and when I skate bowls and pools, I always wear kneepads since I hate kneeslides. But like I said, try and just teach yourself, it's different for everybody, but what I've found is that alot of the how to articles I've read haven't helped me.

    Ah, I'm more of a social skater, if this term is a real one... :p
    It's something I like to do with friends, but I don't go to skate parks and such. Quite frankly, ramps scare me. *flashback to accident as a small child* ;___;

    I don't blame you, that first hard slam is the one that determines how serious you are, some are cut out to slam on the cold hard 'crete over and over and over and over and some aren't.

    I used to skate in my years as a snotty poser kid. I was never any good at it, so I gave up. I've got a couple of skater friends though, and sometimes we go out to the park or somewhere with me on my bike. I've got a friend who's amazing with tricks, he's even appeared in a couple of music videos.
