What began as small fights over resources has dissolved into a bloody, stalemated war between Equestria and the zebra nation all over a simple mistake. A mistake that led to the death of Luna's students at her own magic academy, and turned this war into one of revenge and pride. With no end it sight, the two nations fight endlessly along the front lines, with little to no movement. The only ways out of this war seem to be the annahilation of one or both nations. Princess Celestia has step down since the massacre, leaving Luna and the Elements of Harmony in charge of the war-time nation. Each of the six elements got their own 'ministry' from which to control one essential part of governing. The Ministry of Technology, Magic, Peace, Moral, Image, and Awesome. Dark Light is the most powerful figure outside these 7. She is Commander of the military and leads her own personal army group called the Elite Guard, or 'Commandos'. Where this war will lead, noone knows, but all know it probably won't end pretty.
Crimson was tinkering some strange mechanical object. He would noticed the outside world, then continued to fix his object. He was thinking of joining the commandos, but had some doubt in the back of his mind.
"Thank you all for coming." Luna said to the 7 ponies gathered around the table in from of her. Dark put her arm across her chest in a salute, "Of course your Highness." she said, in probably the most formal greeting that occurred on that table. "Then this War Council is in order!" Luna exclaimed, slamming her hoof down, and the table split in two to show a map of all lands known to Equestria, with a red line between Equestria and the Zebra nation representing the front line. "Ah see y'all got Stable-Tech workin for y'all." Applejack, instantly reconizing her sister's and friends' work. "Yes, shall we begin?"
Winter Rush ran into the council. She was tired and almost out of breath, she felt like she just ran a marathon. “Sorry I’m late Princess, I just had to settle business problems around Canterlot and the surrounding areas.” She took her seat around the desk and listened to Luna continue her speech. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crimson was approached by two commando guards. “Hey kid, we would like you to come with us. Your parents know about this and are at the location we are taking you. You will become a part of Equestria’s history.” The Guards said to the young Crimson. Crimson put his device in a jacket he was wearing. He had no idea where he was going but he believed that if his parents were there, it was important.
(Hey, 4001th post!) "No problem Winter Rush." Luna said. "Now, the frontlines have been stagnated ever since the...event...of a few years ago. Though Applejack's Ministry is currently working on possible solutions to the problem, we need a way to at least bend this war to slightly in our favor and push the zebra out of any remaining Equestrian territory they still hold." "I'm going to guess that's where my Commandos come in?" Dark asked. "Percisely." Luna replied, "Your troops will be responsible for slipping behind enemy lines and causing as much havoc and chaos as possible." Dark smiled, "I like that idea. But how will the Commandos spearhead the offensives like we have?" "That's where I come in!" Rainbow Dash said confidently, "I've got almost any pegasus that hasn't joined your Commandos into my command! No offense of course, but we will be leading most offensives from now on." Dark sighed, "I understand."
“Wouldn’t it possible for a diplomatic approach?” Winter began. “The last thing we need is innocent loss of life. Princess Luna, there is a program about super soldiers that has recently been created in the ministry of technology. We have found a suitable candidate called Crimson Lionheart and is currently being interviewed by your commando guards dark.”
Dark Light scowled, "As Commander of the military, I must request that these things are run by me. You 7 may run the place but I'm the one defending the house! Anyways, wouldn't it be best to hold off on this...'super soldier' program until we know for sure it will work? Because I sure as hell don't want an invincible crazed maniac to deal with alongside the zebras." The ponies around the table nodded their heads one by one, "And please, if you have any further developments that will affect my soldiers, be sure to tell me."
Luna continued "Very well then dark, the super solider program will be put on hold for now. We shall continue with the topic at hand, the Zebra army’s advance on Equestrian territory.” Luna pointed to the map. “Dark and Rainbow, your plan can go forth, how this plan is executed is up to you two. I will request this super solider program to be put on hold but they will have an ok if Equestria loses too much land to the Zebra Empire."
Dark Light smiled, "Is that a challenge Princess? And also Rainbow, remember, even though you may be a Ministry Mare now, your involvement in the military puts you're underneath me in those cases. If you want to do something, make sure you run it by me, unless it's special circumstances that I will describe to you later." Dark then got up, "Now, I need to go get the Commandos mobilized if you don't mind." and she walked out the meeting room. As it turned out, Dark would miss one very important piece of information from the rest of the meeting, Fluttershy's announcement of the megaspells.
Winter Rush listened to Fluttershy’s talk about the Megaspells. First in disbelief, but then in absolute horror as the details got much worse and horrifying. Once the meeting was over, she got up and galloped to find Dark as fast as she could. This was crucial information that dark must have forgot and must know of immediately.
As Dark was about to go in front of a gather Commando assembly, she saw a very certain pony running after her, "What is it Rush?" she asked. She didn't call her Winter on account of Snow's husband, but that can wait.
Rush managed to catch up with Dark. “Dark, you might want to know this. Just after you left, Fluttershy told everypony about the Megaspells”. Rush then told Dark exactly what Fluttershy had said. “These Megaspells have the potential to vaporize entire cities and reduce Equestria into a wasteland, and the Zebra’s have and might use them.”
Dark looked at Rush, "I know. I know." she said with a blank face, "But noone with a right mind would use the megaspells to destroy. Besides, they might actually be useful, think of all we could save in supplies if we used the megaspells for let's say healing or teleportation!" She then turned, "Please stay here so I may speak to you after I am done with the Commandos." she then disappeared behind a curtain and almost instantly a loud, "ATTENTION!" boomed through the place, and Dark began to tell the Commandos of their new assignments.
Winter Rush sat down and decided to watch the commandos get ready. She felt kind of dishearted, knowing that if the Zebras would use these spells then the end would soon to follow. She watched Dark shout orders to the commandos, they instantly responded as they prepared their gear for a new war. She knew that Equestria would soon have to let go, but the truth is much harder to let go.
After finishing her speech to the Commandos, Dark returned to Winter Rush, "Now, is there anything else you want to talk about?" she asked.
“Yes, this war might got out of hand very quickly. Since we both have Megaspell capability, it would be a matter of time before Equestria and the Zebras will literally eradicate the world. So I took this into advance a few years ago and have had a personal stable constructed for us. If you want to come when the bombs fall, then feel free to come. But I’m not going to stop you if you don’t want to come. The Vault will be sealed on October 22nd. I might see you there.” Winter Rush said to Dark. She opened up a map of Equestria. "The vault is located 25 km northeast from Ponyville. I got to go prepare for the end of the world, see you around.”
(Remember Crim, the Last Day is still quite a few years off) Dark simply shook her head, "Don't worry, I took care off myself. Me and my whole family have reserved spots in Stable 2. So see you around I guess."
