(???1): well, first off sweetie... (takes off helmet to reveal herself) I'm no gentleman. (picks up coffee) The person wearing Riot Gear removed her helmet to reveal her dark burgandy hair and emerald green eyes.
A light snow blanketed the ground in Canterlot, the first snow of winter. Nopony knew of how or where it came from, as it was at least a week ahead of its schedule. With it arrived a pale blue stallion, a few hours before dawn. He took up residence in a small inn, near the royal library. He spoke to nopony, and kept his head down,
Celestia was concerned. This was not an uncommon state of mind for the mare, but sometimes, things got to be too much. First, there was the impending war against Chineigh that Celestia was trying to prevent; then, the negotiations with Saddle Arabia; and the conference with the griffins, et cetra, et cetra. But this snowfall was happening within her own country, her own city. That was the first priority. She strode into the throne room where her sister sat, inseparable from her love, a guard named Aerik. "Sister, what ails you?" Luna asked when she saw Celestia's face. "This snow.. It's not natural. We need to figure out what is causing it."
The unicorn sat beside the fire he couldn't feel, though he liked to pretend, and gazed quietly into the crackling embers. Even the rosehip tea offered him little comfort; the only sustenance he felt was from the tears of the innkeeper's daughter upstairs. She had wanted to go and play, but the sudden snow had canceled those plans. It was his source of sustenance, and disgust. Sorrow seemed to cling to him wherever he went, and try as he might he could not change it..
"We must go see our town," Celestia insisted. "We must go find what is causing this." Luna tossed her star filled hair, and she sighed. "Unfortunately, you are right. I will meet you in the Great Hall." Celestia nodded and left, catching a small kiss between the two as she departed. She frowned. It wasn't that she was jealous or anything, but still. It would be nice to have that kind of connection.
"Do you need anything else at the moment sir?" Said the obviously strained innkeeper. "Nothing at the moment," he said, "but thank you for your kindness." Frozen slipped him a few gold bits; not quite adequate compensation, but he hoped it would help. He could feel the joy resonating from within him, but it did little to sate the pain in his stomach. At least it satisfied his soul..
Luna and Celestia walked through the snowy streets. More than once, Luna tried to start up a conversation, but it quickly fell flat, and they walked quietly together. Ponies that saw them bowed, and fillies and colts scampered around their feet.
After some time had passed, Frozen drew on his cloak and slipped out on the cold, snowy evening. It was good weather for a strol.
Celestia spotted the cyan unicorn, and her horn glowed involuntarily. This was a strange pony, and he should be investigated. She nudged Luna silently, and Luna nodded; it happened to her as well. They approached the pony, and Celestia cleared her throat. "Excuse me," she said.
Pale silver eyes came up to meet her own; a supernatural sense of pain and emptiness seemed to cling to the stallion. He appeared unphased by the cold, his cloak thrown on merely as an afterthought. Something akin to mild panic briefly registered in his eyes, but he forced it down. "Yes?" He said in a soft voice.
"Frozen Heart, my lady," he said, doing his best to be courteous and polite to the princess. She was kind and fair to her people, and he held no animosity towards her. He was the monster here, not her. (Ill reply to the other one tonight, i wanted to reply to this one real quick, before work! Lol)
"Frozen Heart, would you mind accompanying us back to the castle?" Celestia asked, her demeanor kind, but stern.
Frozen nodded, "May I ask the reason?" He said, his voice never changing tone or raising octaive. Rather, he was quite polite and gentlemanly, if slightly sad.
"It regards the snow," Celestia said, her voice slightly clipped. "Both our magic sources reacted when we encountered you, so we would just like to ask a few questions."
"Thank you," Luna said. "That was easier than expected." "Please, follow us." Celestia said. A guard that stood by the princesses gestured for Frozen to go ahead of him; the action might be confused for politeness, but the guard simply wanted to make sure Frozen would not escape.
