I have been needing some help for some time on art but I've been to stubborn to ask and have just looked up tutorials but I think some discussion on it would help. I am really terrible at art you may look at my art and go (that's not true) and as flattering as that is it's far from the truth, for as long as I have been doing art I have always been using bases long ago I watched a tutorial and the guy said "Use bases they are great for beginners and after a while you will learn the anatomy and from there can begin free-handing" well 3 years later and I am still using bases, it is almost like a crutch because without bases I struggle with everything from drawing lines, where to start and anatomy. I could look up anatomy but I just cannot get it, I never know where to start how to construct my lines and so on. So I am asking if there are any skilled free-hand artists if they have any tips for line construction, pony anatomy, where to start and any other general tips that will help a tablet artist.
Practice is the most important thing is drawing. I know a lot of people say that, but take it very seriously and you will get something off of it. Another thing about drawing is knowing how the body, head, and limbs are structured. To help with that, you could look at skeletal structures of animals or other people's art. You also have to make actual anatomy make sense. I see a lot of mistake with stuff like that, so you should know how bones bend. Good luck with your art, and I may add more tips in the future.
