Okay so, some of you may know that I am deeply involved with horses. I'm training in equestrian show jumping, both in the hunters aspect and the jumpers aspect for those of you that know terminology. I have two horses of my own, and I work at the stable I board at to help lower the cost of my board fee. That being said, neither of my horses are show ready but I do get to play with the other jumpers and learn from them. Part of my helping is grooming for my trainer's daughter who has become a good friend. Well, she wanted my help next Sunday for a horse show because she wants to take more than one horse. Not to mention a lot of other riders from our stable will be going. My trainer than piped up and said I should bring a horse named Rhapsody and show her while I'm at it. So... um... surprise? Yeah, talk about kinda last minute. I have a week to prepare for a show on a horse I haven't ridden in AGES (though we do make a good team, I can not ride her for months, get on her and jump 2' easy.). Granted, we may only be doing crossrails but y'know, it's my first show I really don't care. but this brings up a good question... how do you all deal with nerves? Because I'm almost sick with them and my show isn't for another week. ^^;
I usually seek encouragement from friends. And on that note: GO HARLEY GO HARLEY GO GO! You have reason to worry, no doubt. But nerves is most often the cause of failure. You'll do great because you're you, and you're awesome, and you have to believe that!
I'm sure you'll do great Harley my friend you need to have confidence in yourself and the horses you are taking care of.
i'm sure you'll do great. Hey, it's your thing, you'll be in your element. We'll be cheering up for you. Go Harley!
I'm terrible with nerves. Utterly, utterly terrible. When I get nervous I begin to shake and sometimes even have problems breathing, but I find that taking a brisk walk or jumping around like an idiot beforehand is a good way to release that energy. Or your could use that energy to your advantage. Harleh, we must rage as LoL together to cope.
Shall I recite the National Anthem for you like last time? :3 You gotta just keep things in perspective. It's your first show, you don't have to be perfect at it. Just have a little trust in your abilities and in your horse's and just have fun doing it. We'll be cheering for you. ^^
@Yami: Ohthankyou <3 LOVE the picture, btw it makes me giggle. :3 @Zoe: Thank you! <3 @Yetione: You could say it's my element *sunglasses* of harmony! YEEEEAAA-- *shot* @Zephski: I freak out, seriously. I have problems with nerves, they just destroy me heavily. BUT YES LOL one day ;-; @Ze Wind: I still owe you my life for that ^^ <3
Well, I've been in two musicals, so, Whatcha need to do, is just clear your mind, and think about how much fun it'll be. Also, if you learn not to care so much, then that helps too (Well, you should care, but... Just don't care if you mess up I suppose). Also, you'll be fine, You're my Harlachu! There's no way they Won't choose you! Riding horses is a scary thing too, It hurt me when I rode one around one time, fun, but painful haha. Not sure what this message means unless it's talking about the game LoL, in which, I'd love to rage with Harleh.
Just play them off Don't let them drag you down Use it as a sort of motivation Yeah, I don't know much about motivation and inspiration But, yeah Just give it all your best Train, train, train And work for some victory cake
I'm thinking about listening to music while warming up, just to help get my soul in a nice rhythm. All the while breathing and relaxing 8D Also I love how this turned into a 'support harley cause she's nervous' when I did ask how people handle their nerves just out of curiosity XD I love you people <3 ;-; also concerned about others. <3 some things nevah change
