I appear to be getting more into drawing ponies every day, so I'll put this thread up for kicks. Anyhow, I have copied out my OC from pony creator into pencil format. Next thing to do is to start thinking up poses for her. Yes, the legs are slightly stumpy. I'll fix that.
Your detail (for ponies) is good the hair and facial features etc are well defined I'd just (like you said) work a little on proportions, longer legs and a smaller head etc. Keep it up test
Grats Testyal! You are using Volumetric Progression (shape masses to flesh out the character). These are crucial and, as you progress, will come much more readily to you as you go. Keep practicing! Drawing ponies heals : )
Right, I think I'll show off my pictures drawn since getting my tablet. I really should put them in chronological order. Drew that one without references, which I'm rather pleased of. Pretty uninteresting, though. Messing around with skeletons. And failing. Started off as a trace of Vinyl, then I drew random stuff on the head. Seriously, drawing ponies at that angle is DIFFICULT. Once again, messing around with skeletons. What can I say? I was in a random mood. Drawn with references. Not as good as No. 1, though. I did draw this a couple of nights before, however. A trace. What more can I say?
haha, Dont worry testyl at least you are better than me XD, really I draw terrible, I need to practice much XD, but you make very good proggres I can see!!, keep the great job!
Moar image. I believe you can all read the note about how eyes are difficult to draw, no? In fact, now I look at it, the neck looks a little off.
*Giggles* I already posted this on the General Chat Thread, but what the hay, I'll post it here. This first one was drawn without references. Also, it's the first pony I've drawn where I messed with the hair and colours. The second one is a copy of Rarity. I drew it before the first to get me into the swing of things. Default brush size when drawing has now decreased to 1, instead of 5 or 3. Also, I altered the tablet's settings so I get a firmer feel when drawing. I have to press down quite hard to get a nice, black outline. Maybe, just maybe, I will outline these sketches with a size 5 to 3 brush (3 for inner parts, like the eyes) for a neater feel overall. Be aware that these won't be vectors. I have a stronger affinity for bitmap. So. What do y'all think?
Well you already read my comment in general, but I have to say after seeing this thread I'm very impressed by your progression. As far as brush sizes go, I have no idea lol. I use a #2 pencil to do all my sketches, and a .5mm mechanical pencil to do the finer bits like eyes.
I have no artistic capability at all. I'm envious of you guy's work. I just know I'll never be as good as y'all.
I was horrendous at drawing before I started. You just need to put your head down and do it. The end results are highly rewarding.
i agree with the little fella, its soooo much fun drawing, im not as good as you but still i love drawing, remember pratice leads to perfect ^_^
