From the Radio Chat and I do not remember who they were It's a giant silk moth in the family Saturniidae my great uncle is awesome :3
I think I'd die if I saw that thing in my house. I know I'm a huge wuss, but LOOK AT THAT THING. It probably waits until you're asleep and then sits on your face to feed on your nightmares.
Nah, but in all seriousness that looks pretty cool for an insect :3 Everything else on the other hoof.....
Spider thread! We get all the good spiders over here, these guys used to live in my yard My dad's old car had these living inside it And just so they had all bases covered these guys promptly inhabited the house and still do occasionally. I usually don't mind spiders, as long as they're not poisonous and on me, BUT, spiders in the car while your driving is not a nice experience. It happened twice to me on the way to work the other week. Eughh!
I sometimes find these around my home, it's quite a frightening experience when you do, they're pretty freaky.
I had to scroll past all of the pictures, especially the spider ones as I have an extremely severe case of arachnophobia when it comes to real spiders.
Just remember to never check behind your clock. And beware of the dreaded toilet paper spider. They don't like to share.
I had a spider called Boris. House spiders are lovely creatures and I welcome them into my room. They kill all the flies for me. :3
View attachment 3365 Wetas are amazing creatures. I think I might have found one sitting behind my TV when I was staying in an apartment in Spain, but it might just have been a really big cricket. Wetas are native to New Zealand, right? Their awesomeness is obviously recognised, since Peter Jackson named his prop studio after them. Also helps that they're incredibly resilient. Truly amazing things, wetas.
East African Giant Snails: "Easily big enough to cross the cuteness threshold and venture firmly into "living slime *squee!*" territory. Look at this sh*t; they're actually big enough register facial expressions!" That article made my day.
