http://www.technewsworld.com/story/74238.html Two days ago was the scheduled voting date for SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (PROTECT IP(Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property) Act of 2011). Due to sites like Wikipedia, Wired Magazine, Google, Mozilla, Craigslist, GetMiro, MoveOn.org, WordPress, Reddit, Boing Boing, heck even MINECRAFT'S WEBSITE went down or censored parts of their website, kind of as a show of what some of our favorite sites (like this one) could look like if SOPA and PIPA passed. It has been reported that the two internet-killing bills are being delayed! I am predicting that these sites will continue to protest SOPA and PIPA until the two bills are gone from congress. It has already been reported that SOPA and PIPA's days are numbered.
I read somewhere the rest of the world is starting a comparable bill now. I hope it's a Hoax. -________________________-
Well, I just learned that SOPA and PIPA will be voted on on the 24th. Let's hope that these bills' days ARE numbered...
not defending the government or anything but really, just buy the flanking CD/DVD or spend like what 2 to 10 bucks on I-tunes then S**t like this wont happen

I think ACTA might be even worse than SOPA. However Sweden have the presidency of the European Union so that means we are key in this vote. This time I may actually be able to do something about it, it should also be remembered that we got a few members of the pirate party in the European parlament. Though the secrecy around this trade agreement scares me.
As well it should. It just proves the governments can do what they want. It should be allowed to be secret, yet some how it's never talked about on news networks.

As long as there's corporate greed, there will be laws like SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA. Sadly, this cannot be stopped. At least now I've learned that apparently the voting on SOPA and PIPA was actually postponed INDEFINITELY (AKA the bills are most likely dead), because I get nothing on the results of any voting for SOPA/PIPA anywhere.
