Spike x Rarity

In yesterday's episode Princess Luna appeared and said she watches over everybody's dream. I knew she was princess of the night but I didn't know that my favorite princess was also the princess of dreams, now she's even more awesome than I originally thought. Ok here's the question do you think she does this for all ponies or just for the fillies and colts of Ponyville and Canterlot?

 

I must agree, the way rarity silenced spike was enough for me.

 

As one of the aforementioned brony friends, I must state I stick by my opinion. I am rather certain that thus far (as in, not counting this episode) Rarity has shown no signs of considering Spike to be anything more than a friend (and even using his probably rather obvious affection for her to her benefit). While this this episode surely strengthened their relationship, I see in it no indication that their relationship became anything more than what it was. As to your boyfriend argument, the first time she used the nickname there was no indication that their statues changed from the status quo of mere friendship and as such the last use of the nickname bears with it no additional implications.

Furthermore, the whole teary falling scene does not exactly point towards your conclusion either. While she might have known of his feelings for her (in fact, it is not even unlikely), it does not mean any feelings were developed. Of course, she might have felt gratitude, relief or whatnot, but I see no reason to believe love (or any variation of thereof) is the primary candidate for the emotion. To conclude the matter, the kiss on the cheek, while, again, not making your theory void, does nothing to indicate it is correct.

Thusly, while I would not dismiss your conclusion as impossible, I would call it somewhat unlikely.

 

I think that this definitely kicked Rarity and Spike right out of the friend zone. While I don't see anything developing any time soon (he is a BABY dragon,) I think this proves that there is definitely hope for him the future. Maybe when he can start hoarding in a bit more responsible manner and age up some a little more permanently there will be something more between them. There is no doubt now that Rarity knows and respects his feelings. It seems to me that if he played his cards right and looted just the right amount of stuff it would seem he could stay in a nice "pony sized" form for as long as wants. ^^;

 

The new episode made me ship Spike/Rarity. <3333333333 I mean, I never had a problem with it before and thought it was kinda' cute, but now...well, <333333333

 

Definitely with Element on this one.
I think it is just adorable after seeing yesterday's episode. I'm going to be honest, it still doesn't tell us much, but it does make the possible ship that bit more believable.
The fictional equestrian universe is ours to change and create. All the fanfics, art and music is what we do to keep the community alive. Whether you think the Rarity x Spike ship is canon or not, neither is the right answer until we see it.
Although, I think it's definately a possibility, it's just so adorable.

I guess both interpretations are valid.

But for me, the falling scene does imply Rarity does have feelings for him. Such a touching moment I almost want to cry from happiness .

Come on, they are such a cute couple .

 

Spike and Rarity = Dragon and Princess (I mean... you don't get any more Princess than Rarity sometimes.) It's absolutely adorable in that respect. I can definitely see why the writers of the show would want to perpetuate it a little, even if I wasn't sure they would "go there" after the first season's treating it more lightly. I am very happy where this episode has put us. Even if we don't see anything more about it Ever, I think this left it in a nice place where you can think what you want and have a chance to be right either way. Isn't that a good thing?

I also wonder if this will actually lead to anything. I doubt they'd actually start dating or something, since he's a bit young. I do think Spike would have a shot if he was older, or when he's older. That's probably just the shipper in me talking though...
