I can't help it! Ponies need to be everywhere, at all times with no breaks with me! I go through this strange withdrawal where I get all jittery and jumpy, kinda acting like your typical Pinkie Pie... and I can't stop til I get my fix of ponies, but that fix is starting to be a 24/7 need! I have pony music on my phone, my phone is ponified, I'm on skype with a lot of bronies... I stalk EPR chat, I do movie night with bronies, I'm constantly on Everypony Forums now, I have EPF as my homepage. I've ignored my photomanipulation ever since I found this place. Not that I'm saying it's a bad thing but... I feel like this can't be healthy XD what happens when college starts and I don't have ponies for class? WHAT WILL HAPPEN?! Maybe I can find pony book covers... BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT. Even when I'm asleep I feel like I need to sleep to pony music - though I don't because music tends to make me sleep terribly... so I can go to sleep faster but not sleep very well... or I can toss and turn without the music, craving it, begging myself to get it, finally fall asleep ... sleep well then wake up and immediately go for ponies.... XD is there such a thing as .... too obsessed?
That's not exactly obsessed! I would say you like ponies A LOT. I do love to go on this site everyday and I like to chat on forums with fellow bronies so I feel you're not obsessed. Maybe, if you do think you're going over the top, take a break and listen to something other than ponies. Take a walk and get some fresh air. It's usually what I do. I hope this is good advice! I'm not the best advice giver. :/
Your on skype with bronies but your skype name isnt on your profile infomation... ...trying to cut back are we? Don't worry that's what Im doing now too, though i have nothing else to do.
@Rain: hehehehehehehe, skype is awesome! I <3 it. @Affection: No. I'm pretty sure it's obsessed, not just "liking". I've been looking around for pony toys, pony blankets, pony plushies! PONY EVERYTHING! It's so hard, I'm able to break away but ... that jittering starts xD It's terrible... awesome but terrible.. @Ripp: ....you had to mention it... I must now go edit that XD
Is it interfering with everyday life? That's the question to determine if you have a serious problem or not. For example - spend time with a non-brony friend, or watch ponies? Eat, or watch ponies? Sleep, or watch ponies? If the house is burning down, do you save your pet aligator, or your disk with all the MLP:FiM episodes? If ParaSprites attack, do you protect your food supply, or get the back-up drive with all the MLP:FiM pictures? Go to work and earn money to buy more pony-related stuff, or just stay at home and watch ponies? These are the type of questions to determine if you have a problem. Personally, I don't think you have a problem. Then again, you're doing all the things I do in life.
You don't seem obsessed at all. Like many people have mentioned, you are a big fan, but not obsessed. The show does have that strong pull, but even in college, I'm sure you will find some way to fill that crave of Ponies. In my opinion, somebody who is obsessed are those who were willing to take their devotion to change their names to that of the characters. That to me is going too far.
You could, y'know. It costs about $100 or so, but it may be worth it. Well, at least in Nevada it's $100, not sure about California. I've thought of changing my name to Dante Wynter, simply because I use it more now that my birth name - and I don't really like my birth name, either.
Please, pony obsession is a good thing, as long as it doesn't interfere with you getting on with life. Keep the obsession strong!! Also, I really need to get F*** Skype!
You have to remember, the people you're obsessing over MLP with on here and skype are REAL people, so it can add to your social skills, and including other people in your life makes you a more varied and interesting person! I would only say someone is "too obsessed" when MLP gets in the way of the people in their life, such as family and friends, or when school/job commitment becomes less than their commitment to MLP. Don't worry about being too obsessed when you're broing out with your fellow bronies, they can only make you a better person!
I had my first dream involving ponies last night. I was at work and I was trying to sell Fluttershy pipe tobacco. I don't remember how it ended. I tend to have very vivid dreams almost every night. I knew it would be only a matter of time before the ponies would show up.
If I could like all your comments, I totally would! @ Dwynter: I like my real name on it's own and for a signature but I'd rather be called Harley then "Krystal", y'know? Krystal just sounds very... I dunno... not elegent, but it's not... Harley. I dunno... I'll figure it out one day XD
I must say with absolute certainty that as a person with OCD I know there is such a thing as too obsessed. And since it takes one to know one, yes, I would have to say you are too obsessed.
I could not have said it better. The big thing to worry about in this instance isn't your obsession over this, but rather how it affects what you do from day to day. Does it prevent you from doing your work at your job, or keep you from your homework at school, college or university? Does it keep you from taking care of household tasks and chores; do the dishes pile up or the garbage and rubbish fill the corridors? Finally, if it keeps you from interacting with your friends, loved ones, or significant other, it may be time to try and look at whether or not you are unhealthily perseverating on Ponies.
No, not at all. Perseverating is a different word entirely: it means "to be highly focused on something" in this context; it acts as a synonym for "obsession."
