The sun was just setting in Ponyville. Luna awaited with the moon to rise into the sky and give the velvety night its soft silver glow. It was summer, and the humid air was cooling down with the coming of darkness, as Vinyl Scratch opened her window to let in the chilly breeze. As the panes swung open, the sounds of shivering bass erupted from her house. She stuck her head out the window to feel the fresh wind, her magenta goggles gleaming in the dusk. What a gorgeous night! She thought to herself, before pulling her head back inside. The unicorn trotted back to her laptop, which pumped out beats through her various speakers around the room. She plopped unto her belly in front of it, summoning up her email and switching up the song. The night was young, and as far as she knew, Octavia wouldn't be home for another hour or so from her recital. She sighed happily at the thought of Octavia, and she smiled brightly to herself. She was excited for her friend to come home; she had just finished a new track, and she'd borrowed a melody from one of Tavi's favorite classical pieces. Vinyl loved learning from Octavia, even though her friend could be quite snobby at times and shrug away any advice that Vinyl could give. Despite that, she had learned about Mozhorn and Beethooven, the latter being her favorite.
(Oh! So we're going off that they live together! Interesting, I was actually going to propose we do that.) Octavia trotted home, happily humming the tune she had just played over and over to perfection. Octavia looked towards the sky, marveling Luna's handiwork. She always did think the moon was the greatest of all the sky's beauties. A breath of wind blew through her mane and she closed her eyes, savoring it. Octavia's good mood had come from the success of the recital. Despite still having a few notes to clean up, she was sure their performance would be a raving success! Okay, maybe not raving, Vinyl could have that! All she wanted was for the pleasure of the viewers and the applause. Octavia neared her home and heard the familiar thuds of a bass in full momentum. 'Looks like Vinyl's up to it again,' Octavia thought. As she neared closer to the house, she began to recognize specific beats and chords (if that's what you could call them) in the music. Vinyl had taken off one of her favorite pieces! She wasn't sure whether to be angry or flattered, so she settled for a dash of both. Octavia gingerly pushed open the front door. After closing it, she wandered to the staircase and shouted "If you need me, I'm back now!" just loud enough for Vinyl to hear her. Octavia then wandered into the kitchen to see if she could get a late dinner for herself.
Derpy had just finished her deliveries for the day. She was happy. She flew of to her house, hitting a few storm clouds on the way, ready for a nice muffin.
(I'm going off the Doctor Hooves and Assistant thing for this)Dr. Whooves wondered through the streets of Ponyville, no matter how long he spent in this world, things that everypony else just took as a fact of life amazed and intrigued him. He say on a park and just took in the sights.
[[Yeah, I'll just take over Bon Bon if you like. Thanks anyways Legion! ]] Vinyl heard her friend's sweet, melodic voice float through the air as she entered, and she rose from her comfort spot, rubbing her belly idly. The scruffy mare paused in front of her mirror, which was lined with blue, softly glowing lights, and she tossed her mane around until it fell more gracefully. Shrugging at herself, she turned and went out of her room. Just as the song went into her final cascading beats, she slid down the staircase banister and jumped to the ground. The unicorn followed Tavy's lilac scent into the kitchen, where the dusky pony was rummaging through the fridge. Vinyl plopped on top of a counter, still bobbing her head to the music as it ended. "Sooooo...??" She asked, leaning forward, eager for her friend's answer. *** Bon Bon was just tucking herself into bed, sucking a cherry lollipop and settling down to a good book. Her vanilla and pink mane was in rollers, and she wore snuggled into her pillow gratefully. She was thinking about her day tomorrow planned with Lyra. The two were going to plan a visit to Canterlot together over lunch, because Bon Bon had some special ingredients being made in her auntie's shop there.
Octavia shouted when Vinyl crept up on her and appeared on the table. "Vinyl, please!" she said, "Don't do that, you'll give me a heart attack!" She cleared her throat to answer Vinyl's question. "If you're asking about the recital, it went beautifully. Only a few things left to brush up on, and they are only small things; it's nearly performance worthy!" She pulled out some carrots and began munching on them. Turning to Vinyl, she said "On the way in, I recognised some of the notes in that music you were playing just now. Rummaging through my music collections, now were you?"
Vinyl held her middle, still laughing hard from the shock on Tavi's face. She forgot how unaware of her surroundings her silly friend could get. After heaving a few breaths, she slid down and dug into the fridge, grabbing a carrot for herself. "That's brutal, that your concert went good and all. And so what? I know you can't resist the temptation to go through my music, as well!" Chuckling to herself, she jumped back up to the counter. "It sounded good though, right?" She asked, swinging her legs. Behind her purple goggles, her eyes sparkled, analyzing Tavi's face for a sign of approval.
Derpy kept walking till she bumped into somepony. "Oops. Sorry. I didn't see you there! I'm Derpy Hooves! Nice to meet you!" The pony she just bumped into had a brown mane and a brown coat. He was tall-ish and his cutie mark was an hour-glass.
Doctor Whooves jumped when he was bumped into. He swiveled around to see a grey, what do you call it, pegasus! Her eyes were crossed and one was further up than the other and had a blond mane, "Oh! Uh, can I help you?" he asked
"Uhh..." Octavia thought a moment, than smiled at Vinyl. "Yes, of course! I love it! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need some rest. It's late." She finished her carrot and headed to her room on the bottom floor. She opened the door and examined its plainness. Vinyl's was covered in pictures and posters, with so much color! It hurt Octavia's head to look at. Hers was simple and plain, a few pictures were posted around, but not nearly as many as Vinyl's. She plopped into her bed and was asleep quickly enough.
Pleased with Tavi's succint answer, Vinyl shrugged and made her way back upstairs, chewing slowly. She pressed play on her system, launching it into a soothing song from one of her favorite underground metal tracks. She made sure to politely turn the level down just enough so it wouldn't bother her roommate. She slid into her bed, a notebook cradled in her lap, and continued writing her song ideas.
The next day came quicker then Vinyl thought. She piled several pillows over her head, trying to mute the bright sunlight that filtered through her stained-glass windows. Growling angrily, the unicorn threw the pillows in frustration and jumped from her bed. She disappeared into the bathroom, splashing cold water on her face and wiping away a bit of drool from the corner of her mouth. She was sooo sleepy! The white mare dragged a brush lazily through her crazy mane, and soon gave up on the task. She trudged downstairs, her stomach rumbling. The kitchen was too bright, she thought as she rubbed her crimson eyes. Vinyl put on a pot of cinnamon coffee, and stood staring at it, zombie-like, as each drop dripped.
Derpy looked at the one in front of her. "Oops! Sorry! I didn't see you there! My name is Derpy Hooves! What's your name?"
Octavia trotted out of her room after a nice long rest in her bed. She was certainly chipper and in a good mood after her sleep. Wandering into the kitchen, she saw Vinyl, who looked totally out of it. "Good morning, Vinyl!" She chimed. Octavia opened the fridge and pulled out a premade breakfast, which she ate pretty quickly. Looking back into the fridge, she frowned. "Getting low on food again." She announced. "I have nothing to do today, so I suppose I'll just go down to the market! I'll see you around!" Turning towards the door, she walked towards it to begin her day.
Vinyl hardly saw Octavia come and go. At the mention of food, she opened the fridge to peer in, flinching at the frosty air. It was pretty blank, as Tavi pointed out. Once the coffee brewed, she poured herself a mug and added a glop of cream and sugar. Sipping at it gratefully, the mare could finally shake the fog from her mind. Her stomach rumbled loudly, reminded her again of breakfast. She daydreamed of Pinkie's delicious morning muffins, which would taste delicious with the coffee. Licking her lips, she grabbed her purple goggles, sliding them over her face, and headed outside, cradling her coffee.
Lyra after a long relaxing spa retreat arrived back In ponyville. She then Went back to unpack back at her house where bon Bon was waiting. "hey Bon bon anything happen while I was at the 3 day spa trip. The trip there was great I felt really calm and relaxed. I would of come back sooner but train was delayed." ((I'm probably going to go with the fan style Lyra you know being wandering about humans and whatnot so I thought maybe get a friendship with doctor whooves where Lyra talks to him about what humans are like))
Octavia wandered about the market, occasionally grabbing at some sort of product and inspecting it. Most of the time, she put the vegetable back, muttering "too soft" or "not the right color." Octavia wanted only the ripest and freshest of foods to eat. It wasn't easy to find anything worthy, as she had arrived after all the early ponies had washed through everything. It took her nearly two hours of shopping to get a day's worth of food. Sighing, she went off to sit at a table and eat her lunch: two carrots and some tomatoes.
