Ah, Valentine's Day. A day for couples to celebrate their shared emotional sickness with cheap candy, overpriced flowers, and mass-produced and unoriginal cards. A day for lonely people to be reminded that everybody in the entire world is happy except for them. A day to realize how pointless and stupid the human desire for affection is.
I always thought this celebration was... pointless in my opinion. One day to celebrate love and friendship... isn't that something you MUST do EVERYDAY?! I mean, you spend a lot of time with your friends and someone special (if you have one), yet people don't do that and wait to this exact day. Also, all this stuff that people buy to others sometimes, no... all the time, are quite overpriced compared to their prices the rest of the year and not so original stuff like you said. Well, this is all my opinion at the end and I actually agree with you, I don't like it at all.
Que "Single Train" intro here. Personally, I'd like to have someone to spend Valentine's with since it's what the day is meant for anyway, but what I wonder is why can't such events be saved for other things like birthdays or anniversaries? I wouldn't call the day pointless, but a little unnecessary? I wouldn't argue with that. EDIT: This is relevant.
Unlike all other celebrations? Anyway I like valentines day because then you see all the "forever alone guys" complaining about it.
Because money. Seriously, after working in retail that's how I feel about most holidays. "It's _, don't forget to buy your _ something!" - - Auto Merge - - That's a good way of looking at it. You may as well love yourself because you're stuck with yourself for the rest of your life! Lol
i have a girlfriend, but we both agreed that we wouldn't bother with valentines. mostly because im ace, and being lovey dovey is hard for me. also because cons are a much better use of our money..
