The premier has me thinking that the way some of the characters started showing the opposites of harmony were a bit strange. For Example PinkiePie became angry, wouldn't the opposite to laughter be depression or sadness. Rainbow Dash didn't seem to change either, she went off to help her home, meaning she was just shifting her priorities of who or what to be loyal to. Wouldn't the opposite be betrayal or maybe apathy towards everything. That's all really if there is anything strange you noticed about their disharmony personas let's discuss them.
Pinkie Pie: Anger Rarity: Greed Applejack: Dishonesty Fluttershy: Aggression Rainbow Dash: Betrayal Twilight Sparkle: Physics
The opposite of magic is physics?! That makes so much sense . . . But, really, the one I had the most trouble with was Rainbow Dash. She's deserting her friends, true, but she's still being loyal to her home town. I'm sure if she could have resisted Discord a little, she'd realize that, even if Cloudsdale was crumbling, sticking with her friends and beating Discord would be more advantageous. I guess it bothers me because - she's still being loyal, just to a different group of people. So is that so bad, really? I suppose it is, for the reason above. Still kind of bugs me.
It would be better if she just left to practice her Wonderbolt moves, not caring about loyalty to her friends or her home, just pursuing her own interests.
greed? anger? violence? fraud? treachery? is it me or is the show becoming more like dantes inferno and discords like satan? of course he was imprisoned like in the story and twilight would be dante
that does sound like a great idea i mean if you look at discords appearance he does resemble everything unholy and impure from the serpent tale to the goat head, he fools with ponies hearts and and screws with their judgement as well as he makes deals, celestia and luna did cast him down and imprisoned him just like what happened to the fallen angle as he was frozen in the ninth circle
I feel that Dash leaving to save Cloudsdale was the way to go as much as that scene killed me inside. It completely shifted her loyalty to that of Cloudsdale and away from the game. Leaving her friends there to lose. I actually liked seeing Rarity all greedy, reminded me of the orange lantern. I can't wait to see what will happen to Twilight. Maybe she will lose friendship, remember friendship is magic after all. Without friendship can the elements even work?
"The Game..." :discord: Opposite of Magic is Physics? What the hay? Does make sense I guess, but that's Derpy's element.
So if Derpy and Twilight crashed into each other at high speed, would they get annihilated? @Pixel - Green gem? When did you join the Green gem club? Cool!
Congrats on the green gem! Physics, being the opposite of magic.... makes sense. But shouldn't Twilight become a bit more.... dark instead of realistic when corrupted by Discord? But it makes sense in the end. :derpe:
Spoiler: Referencing that 50 second clip of part two... ...Twilight didn't look "disharmonized", and Discord teleported away at the end of that clip without disharmonizing her, so I have to wonder...is she possibly immune to it? Or is Discord planning something else entirely for her? /speculation Pinkie and Rainbow actually do make some sense the more I think about it. When I think the opposite of Laughter, I do think "depression". However, Discord wasn't making her the opposite of her element--rather, he was using it against her. He turned Laughter against her by convincing her everypony (particularly her friends) laughs at her, rather than with her. In a way, it's sort of like what happened in Party of One. Depression that turns into rage at her friends. Discord did the same with Rainbow, by using her Loyalty towards her home and duties to convince her to abandon her friends. EDIT: Heck, he did the same with Applejack, convincing her that her honesty was a bad thing, and with Rarity by "generously" offering her a, err, "diamond". ...And he just plain ole cheated with Fluttershy by just using his magic. Still, he had attempted to do the same thing.
