Welcome back to the Argument Poll! This week, we will be debating a matter of international importance: Anime versus cartoons. Remember, while the point of this thread is to argue, please try keep it friendly.
No option for both or neither? Hm, only good anime is Naruto, but I like MLP and Adventure time as cartoons. I voted for "Cartoons." I've enjoyed countless in my life, but no more than 10 animes tops.
While I have watched many cartoons and been a fan of them, the few animes I have watched I've loved more than any of them. Kinda 50/50, chose anime.
Japanese anime is usually more story driven, with focus on character development. Western cartoons are usually meant solely as mindless entertainment, focusing on humor.
That's because Anime are less restricted and are allowed to be more "adult". Western animation is usually seen as only for kids. (cept' for MLP of course) Also, adults tend to under-estimate the intelligence of children
I voted anime because anime consistently makes me laugh and pulls me in more than cartoons, but I love cartoons as well (MLP, Adventure Time, Futurama, South Park, old Family Guy).
Exact same reason why I've chose "Cartoons". I've enjoyed some anime's, such as Hellsing and Dragon Ball Z. But I've been watching amines since i was young and have enjoyed much more cartoons. I remember watching Sonic the Hedgehog (1993 SatAM series), Powerpuff Girls, Kappa Mikey, and heaps more. So yep, Cartoons. Besides, i sort of lost interest in Anime except for Naruto and DBZ over time.
People still like Naruto? Well, you're into what you're into I suppose. I voted Anime, because I prefer story-driven, character-development based shows more than just humour. Naruto lost its appeal to me after like the 20th episode. No interest. Favourite anime is Shingeki no Kyojin.
I've grown up watching cartoons. I've learned from them, so I love them. If I watched anime on a regular basis, maybe I would vote for Anime.
I remember my brother tried showing me some new anime. I wanted to claw my face off. Yay, cartoons are winning. You people surprised me.
