"Have you ever heard of Horsehead Bay? It a small town near the ocean. Not quite as small as the famous Ponyville home to Princess Twilight Sparkle, but compared to big metropolis of Manehatten it's rather small. The ocean boarders the town's east, to the south is an amazing amusement park, the north holds an unique orchard ran by a family of both earth pony and unicorn heritage, to the west is a large forest. Before that forest you'll find an obsidian colored Glass House." "What are you doing mommy?" "Usagi, how many times have I asked you to call me daddy. I'm a stallion. Mares are mommies, Stallions are daddies. I'm writing an advertisement for Equestrian Times. I'm just reading it out loud to check for errors." Lioconvoy sat at a desk in his room and looked over what he had typed so far. The horse body his mind currently resided in was difficult to use. The level of technology in this world was awkward as well. Instead of using a computer he had to make do with a type writer. "Let me finish this. Okay." "Okay." The little white filly went across the room her bed and started jumping up and down. "Where was I? Before that forest you'll find and obsidian colored Glass House. This house isn't just made of any old common glass. This non-see-through glass is special. Worried about Discord appearing out of nowhere starting a parade in your bedroom? Worry not the unique properties of the glass prevents anypony from just appearing when the doors are closed. In or out if the door of a room is closed the only way to get through the door is to manually open it. The ability to seal magic users in or out isn't the only things the glass has going for it, it's also tough a herd of stampeding buffalo would just hurt their heads ramming into the glass. For a home that can take a licking and keep on kicking, the Glass House is place to be. Now accepting tenants. Reasonable rent, 625 square feet rooms, furnishings provided upon request, meals are provided upon request and access is granted to the kitchen." Looking over the add the Lio smiled. "I think this should pique some interest." *A week later after the advertisement has finally ran* Lio stands outside the Glass House watching Usagi chase after some bunnies from the forest. "Here's hoping we get at least one or two renters. The blue haired filly stops her chase and hops over to her mommy. "Mommy, why couldn't we live in Ponyville?" "I think that hour you spent with Pinkie Pie was all the time you needed to spend with her for a lifetime. Please stop calling me mommy." (Okay now's the time for people to start moving in. This is kind of my first time doing something like this, so I hope I did a decent job setting things up. Feel free to tell me where I failed.)
Darky and his beloved wife, Princess Luna, where walking down the road. He had with him the ad that talked about that place. Luna agreed in going so they could spend more time together... like if they didn't do it a lot. Also, with all the things it said about the house, Luna got... a small idea of what they could do whit all that privacy, so she picked the furthest one for them. Anyways, as they walked they saw the house and the two ponies in there. Darky saw them and decided to go and see who where they, maybe some other ponies living in there or maybe the owners, he didn't knew. "Good day." Darky said to Lio once he and Luna arrived to where they were. Luna yawned a little "Good day..." she said a bit sleepy.
In Horsehead Bay town, a young mare glistened in the sunlight, drawing occasional glances from the citizens. Star Shimmer paid them little mind; she'd been getting looks since she left her home in the Crystal Kingdom. She supposed that not many crystal ponies came this far south, but she didn't share the isolationist views of her crystalised kin. She wanted to explore the world, to find out what had changed in the thousand years that the Crystal Kingdom had lain dormant. Also, she was quite bored at home...and she never really felt like she...belonged... Her ruminations were ended when she caught a glint of sunlight in her eye. She looked and saw the sheen of a building made entirely of obsidian: The so-called "Glass House", her destination. She smiled a bit as she picked up her pace from a steady walk to a light trot. As she thought of how nice it would be to rest after a long walk she spied something that made her stop dead in her tracks. Star Shimmer's jaw dropped and she stared, completely dumbstruck. The one she saw before her, the one who was now yawning sleepily was none other that the fabled Princess Luna, one of the two Sisters who cast Sombra to the shadows (the first time, anyway). "Okay...play it cool, Star..." the crystal pony said to herself as she slowly approached. "You're only in the presence of a Goddess...heh, no biggie, right? I mean, she only controls the Moon and Stars, right?" Before she realized it, she was standing right beside the Lunar couple. She stared at Luna for what seemed like an unnervingly long time before she blurted out, "HelloPrincessMynameisStarShimmerI'mahugefanofyoursIcan'twaittogettoknowyoubetterandIhopethatwecanbegoodfriendsandmaybeyoucanteachmesomeofyourspellsI'vealwayswantedtoknowhowyoumovetheMoonandtheStarsandI'mprattilingonandyouprobablywanttojustgotosleepandIshouldleavenow." She quickly looked over at her new landlord and his daughter and continued, "HelloI'mStarShimmerandI'dliketobeshowntomyroomplease!" She ended this with a grin that was just a little too wide for her face, as she nervously glanced from time to time at Her Majesty.
Azure then teleported right in front of Star with a big flash and at first she brushed herself off because she had a little trouble while leaving which would explain why she looked so roughed up. then she noticed Darky and Luna and walked up to them. "Oh,hey guys! so,you guys are staying here too?" she held out her hoof to luna for a hoofbump.
(Well, that escalated quickly xD Also, you forgot to squee after the grin [emoji14]) Luna and Darky were quite surprised of what she said like... out of nowhere. Luna felt a little uncomfortable after she said all that, mostly because she didn't understood most of what she said... or anything she said at all. After a moment she noticed Azure and yawned again. "Hi there." She said as she hoofbumped her, still sleepy. "Hi Azure." Darky said when he saw her. "Yes, we are also staying here."
"Well this is twice the number I was hoping for. Welcome to the glass house." Not that he didn't recognize the alicorn, but best guess was is someone that important was here they wanted their privacy. Hopefully Usagi wouldn't bother her. "I'm assuming you've all seen the floor plans I included in the advertisement. Which rooms would you like?" Usagi notice the princess, but she was staring at the crystal pony. The crystal looked cool, but.... "How are you doing that? Mommy said Crystal ponies only stay crystal near the crystal heart? Did you steal a piece of the crystal heart? Can I see it!"
"Room 18 please." Darky said. "If I remember correctly, it was the furthest one." Luna said shortly afterwards.
"Right." Lio pulled out a a pair of keys and handed them to the Grey alicorn. "I'd show you up, but I assume you already know the way. The house is fairly simple despite it's size." (I have to go to work now. I won't be back till later)
Star felt the crackle of magical energy near her position and quickly stepped back as the cerulean pony teleported in front of her. A look of annoyance crossed her face, and she seemed even more annoyed that this common pony would dare talk to the esteemed Princess Luna in such an...informal manner, going so far as to offer a hoofbump.. The nerve! Star was snapped out of her annoyance by Usagi's question about the Crystal Heart. Her eyes shifted nervously as she replied, "I, uh, didn't steal it...I borrowed it." She briefly moved a few tresses of her mane aside to reveal a small, blue earring. She smiled as she did so, clearly taking pride in her craftsmanship. It wasn't easy to obtain a piece of such a potent magical item, let alone fashion an earring from it. It was good that she had "friends" in low places. She heard Luna and Darky mention that they wanted Room 18. She turned toward Lio and quickly stated, "I'd like Room 19, please. It's, uh...it matches my age." Then, she muttered, "Relatively speaking, of course..."
"Humph" muttered Discord as he read the advert in Equestrian Times, "starting parades in random ponies rooms? I've never done that! The nerve! Not a bad idea though..." He stroked his goatee for a while as he thought of the potential of that idea, before remembering why he was looking through these ads in the first place; he had to find somewhere to stay, and although he'd never tell anyone this, he'd have felt bad imposing on Fluttershy. He supposed he was learning. Deciding that this 'Glass House' sounded like the most interesting boarding available, he dropped the paper (which promptly grew papery wings and flew off) and teleported to the town of Horsehead Bay... ...Only to materialise in somepony's pond; evidently the geography of the area had changed somewhat in the last 1000 years. Muttering to himself, he conjured up a towel to wrap around his waist, and headed towards the large black building up the road. As he approached, he saw a familiar figure amongst the group of ponies gathered around the door to the house. He grinned broadly as he approached the group and bellowed: "Well, if it isn't my favourite Princess!" he teleported again, this time appearing between Luna and the stallion accompanying her, an arm around either neck "And who might this be, hmm?" he asked, turning to look at the stallion. He had seen them both around the court at Canterlot, but he didn't really know very much about Luna's personal life; Celestia didn't exactly trust him with free reign of the castle. (much to his indignation, didn't she know he'd changed?) (Um, I realise the brackets are meant to be for out of character stuff, but hopefully they make sense in the context I've used them, and no-one has any objections?)
Luna looked at Discord and sighed, moving away his arm. "Discord..." she said a bit annoyed by his presence in there, then yawned again. Darky recognized the name and looked at him. "Me? Well, I'm Luna's husband. My name is Darkness Knight, you can call me Darky." He said smiling to him, trying to look friendly. Discord seemed a bit... weird. Well, not a bit, but more... (I'm okay with it.)
Discord's jaw dropped, (to about halfway down his body) "Husband?" he gaped "Well aren't you a couple of dark horses?" He grinned at his own joke, then started shaking their hooves with great vigour and enthusiasm "Well congratulations! I'd have brought wedding presents, but apparently I was rather... preoccupied." his face and voice darkened a little with that final word. He dropped their hooves and span round to inspect the rest of the group; they all looked interesting in their own way, but he was working on getting his priorities straight. "So, who do I see about a room?" he inquired.
"Let's see 666 for you." Lio handed the requested key to the cerulean unicion.(? Sorry, the sign up doesn't mention what kind of pony and you used magic.) And then he took out the crystal pony's key and handed it to her. "19, for you." Little Usagi admired the earring, but just because she was six it didn't mean she didn't know the difference between borrowing and stealing. It was a cool earring. Using her abilities the white Pegasus made herself all crystal like. After doing that he appeared! She hopped over to him immediately after he dropped the hooves of the princess and her boy friend. "I know you! Mommy has your heart!" "Usagi, the Heart of Discord is not Discord's heart, it simply a magical artifact from.... never mind it's not his heart." Five tenants. Far more than her could have hoped for. Just how would they take it if they found out he was from another reality? "You want to live here? All the effort I put into making sure you, Sombra, or Tirek couldn't destroy this place... why not. Just a brief warning not only is the house fairly magic resistant, it's also rather sound proof. If you decide to hold a Wild Stallion concert if your room at 1 AM, so long as the others have their doors shut they won't hear a peep." "Mommy thought about you a lot when she built the house. Big sis helped her since she bad at magic." It was too bad Kimitsu didn't want to visit the world of ponies. Usagi hoped her sister would change her mind eventually. "One of these days I'll get you to call me dad or daddy." Lio rubbed his head with his front right hoof.
"Destroy?" Discord adopted a hurt look "Why does everypony assume I want to destroy? I reap chaos! Or at least, I did. And as we should all know, Chaos is a form of creation! It's really very underrated." He put on his best solemn look "In any case, I am a reformed character, your protective measures, whilst impressive, shall prove unnecessary." With that out of the way, he turned to the more interesting of the duo. The filly had said some intriguing things, and he could tell there was more to her than met the eye, and from what she'd said, the same was true of her father. "So" he said, shrinking down to Usagi's size "You've seen my heart, have you? Or perhaps, my heart's brother?" he asked, casting a mischievous eye back up at Lio. "Well I have often felt I have a hole where I ought to have a heart" he lamented, turning his gaze back to Usagi, "Luckily it's handy for storing these" A muffin appeared in his paw, which he offered to the Filly. He reverted to full size once more, inspecting the house more carefully "But perhaps it's true what they say; home is where the heart is," He grinned crookedly at Lio "So how about that key?"
Usagi looked carefully at the muffin. Her big sister taught her how to use the little robot in her blood to check for bad thing in food. As a great man once said 'Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.' So you have the freedom of choice. Which room would you like, 18, 19, 4, and 666 are already taken." Still carefully looking at the muffin the blue haired pony wanted to impress Discord. "Mommy chose four as our room cause it's both good luck and bad depending on who or where you are."
"Lucky numbers?" Discord pulled a face, "Never held much stock in Luck myself, but let's see if it'll pick my room for me, shall we?" He disappeared for a second, then reappeared wearing a dealer's visor and stood behind a craps table. He rolled the dice, which came up as a six and a seven, "Well, it looks like 13 is my number, who'd have thought?"
Luna looked at them, not sure what to say about what they were talking about and what did Discord just did, she then yawned. Hopefully, he would not interfere whit her time with his husband... right? "You really want to sleep?" Darky asked her. Luna just nodded. Darky then nuzzled her cheek. "Alright then, let's go." He said to her, then turned to everypony else... and Discord. "Well, see you later." He said with a smile to them as he went into the house with her so she could rest.
Azure simply kept away from discord the whole time with a disgusted face, she took the key to her room and went into the house. (Could I post another Sign up sheet, but for a different OC?)
Quickly handing Discord his key Lio followed the royal couple into the house. "The rooms are bare at the moment but as the advertisement mentions furnishing can be provided upon request. Will you be needing furniture? Or do you have everything you need in some sort of magical pouch? To be honest I know very little about alicorn magic." ~~~ Still outside Usagi has determined the muffin safe and started eating it. While she eating it she changes back from the crystal form she assumed earlier. (Yep, I mention that in the sign up topic. The are enough open rooms still.)
