If ANY of you have seen the previous generations of My Little Pony, you've probably been flabbergasted by Lickety's sudden appearance in the Spike episode of season 2. For those of you that don't know, Lickety-Split, in the earlier generations was a girl. I had to do a double-take to be sure Spike called the pony what I thought he did. So, what do you guys think of this new incarnation of Lickety-Split? Do you like the new or do you prefer the older version?
Didn't notice that, mainly because I'm not as into the earlier generations. It is quite cool though... I guess that they thought it would be interesting for the older fans of MLP, and it seems to have worked. I'd have to say G4 Lickety split.
I didn't watch the older generations, although I was aware of Lickety Split. I'll be honest, I'd rather have seen the show pertain to keep her female, not sure why.
I guess it's possible this pony is just another sharing the same name, like how you get multiple people in the real world named the same. For the creators, it would be a lot easier to just nick another name than to think up of another, and as the names tend to tie in with personality or talent of the pony, the pony would probably have a similar cutie mark... @Ronsta The pony who is bouncing a ball in episode 10 season 2. He gives Spike his ball when he's told it's spikes Birthday. Spike calls him Lickety split, the name of another pony in an earlier Generation of My little pony.
