Tyler was just walking down the road taking in the scenery when all of a sudden he saw something odd. To his surprise he saw a new pony in town. "Hm a new pony I better go introduce myself" He walked over to the newcomer and asked "Hi welcome to Ponyville my names Tyler what's your name"?
The mare jumped when Tyler spoke, "Ahh! Oh, excuse me! You startled me! Erm... my name is Arclight and I just moved here from Manehattan." She gave him a polite bow and beckoned him over to a small table with two seats.
"Nice to meet you Arclight" Tyler went and sat down at the table "So" he said "why did you move and also have you met the "welcome pony" yet"?
Arclight smiled sadly, "I was run out of Manehattan... Ponyville was out of the way, and I thought I could leave my old life behind. And no, I haven't met the "Welcome Pony", though that pink one has been eyeing me since I arrived five minutes ago." Arclight brushed her long, blonde hair away, but it fell back in front of her face.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that it will just be our little secret okay? and also heads up she's a crazy pony so she will pop up at times" Tyler said "How about I buy you lunch?" He said smiling "you must be hungry like crazy then maybe afterwards I can give you a tour of Ponyville"
Tyler ushered the waitor over to the table and ordered for himself and Arclight. After they ate Tyler showed Arc around "If you look over to the left you can see SugarCube Corner where they have the best sweets and if you look to your right you can see the Carousel Boutique where you can get most of your dresses and what not" After the tour Tyler brought Arc to her home "So do you need help with moving your boxes into your home?"
"Um... if you want to..." Arclight blushed slightly. She'd never been treated like this before, and she'd never met somepony as nice as Tyler. After they finished moving the boxes, Arclight turned towards him, "I-if you want, we could go to dinner together tonight..." She suggested quietly.
"He seems nice..." Arclight said to herself as she watched him go. When he disappeared, Arclight went inside and unpacked a few things, as well as tidying up her house. When she finished, Arclight decided to take a shower. Something was watching her the whole time, and she didn't even know it.
Tyler went back home to his house and decided to get tidy for later. "Wow my first date in like.... EVER im really excited" Tyler said 'I should go back to studying the strange things going on now while I still have the time" Tyler then reached up to the high shelf of his bookcase and grabbed a key. Tyler went over to a door that had some old timey lock on it and inserted the key. When he walked in he went over to his table which was cluttered with files and research notes which wasnt really any different that the rest of the room which was covered in news clippings of "ponies going missing" and "odd occurences". "Im so close to finding out whats going on I just need more time to research" he said in frustration. Little did Tyler know that something was watching him too. Tyler thought something was watching him he turned around and looked out of his covered window. Just then he saw something terrifying and it was Arclight being pulled to her doom by a mysterious force. "Oh no ARCLIGHT" Tyler said with shock He ran out of his front door and ran towards Arclights home. When he got there he banged on the door "ARCLIGHT" he screamed while still banging on her door
Arclight ran to the door, "Yes? W-what is it?" She asked quietly, looking up at Tyler shyly. Tyler must have been hallucinating, or he was just tired, because Arc looked fine. She didn't seem to be in any distress.
"Arclight I know this might sound crazy but your in terrible danger I need to get you out of here now before IT gets you"Tyler said very quickly
"Tyler...? S-stop, you're scaring m-me... please..." Her eyes filled up with tears and she began to cry.
"Oh no look im sorry but we need to go now before its too late" Just then Tyler saw something sinister form behind Arclight "BEHIND YOU" he said in shock
Arclight jumped forward and hid behind Tyler, cowering in fear. The sinister mass stayed for a bit, then vanished. Arclight was crying even harder, and her heart was pounding so hard, it felt as though it could burst out of her chest. "Tyler..." she sobbed quietly.
"Its okay I will keep you safe however you cant stay here you would be better off at my house lets grab your personal belongings and get out of here" Tyler said
Arclight grabbed only her mother's necklace, and waited patiently next to Tyler. Her eyes showed great amounts of fear, but also relief. "Th-thanks for rescuing me..." Arc said quietly and kissed him on the cheek.
'No problem im always willing to help anypony in need" he said he then brought Arclight to his house and helped her get cozy he put a glassof cider on the table in front of her and gave her a blanket. "Ok let me help you get up to speed recently there has been something going on around Ponyville lately ponies have been going missing and weird things have been happening. Everytime somepony has seen the thing they were called crazy and they we mocked but not me I dont think they are crazy. I have dedicated my life to figuring out whats been going on and I have found out alot of stuff. This THING is called the Soul Eater it attacks the most weakest pony and it will take them away to an alternate universe called The World of No Return. There countlless ponies have been held captive against their will and the only way to save them is to kill the Soul Eater but the bad news is I havent found out how to kill it and now it looks like your its next victim" Tyler said then his face turned to sadness "im sorry but theres also good news I know somepony well actually somezebra shes a zebra her names Zecora an she knows how to stop the Soul Eater"
"No, you saved my life! I must repay you somehow." Arclight was shaking fearfully, "W-wait... I'm next?" She asked, gazing into Tyler's eyes.
