The Promised Land: Interest Check

(Hey guys, I had the idea to turn this into a RP. This was originally an idea that me and my friends had at school that I was going to write as a short novel. Instead, I thought that I could share this idea with the site and see where it goes. Of course, the EP version would be ponified instead of the human version that I was going to write sometime back. If you are interested in this, your characters will be mentioned in the finished version. While the real story of the book is set in 2289, this RP is set in 2194 when Hackers attempted to retrieve the Book of Ancients, the failsafe for all magic spells and powers.

Story: In 2053, Virtual Reality makes its biggest impact in the world. A device that is implanted into the brain known as Virtrotech allows the user to experience the deepest fantasies, giving them the power of kings and gods as they can literally create their own dream world inside their dreams which they can visit and rule peacefully or destroy in real time, while their body is asleep. This device also has millions of AI programs for real time discussion and the user can join their friends or family and make their worlds. The only way this device could be activated is that the user must be asleep and the respawn count is three days when the player “dies”. Hacking was believed to be impossible until it’s first official attack in 2131

In 2060, a child genius named Xavier Anderson was born. He graduated from university at the age of 13 and in 2080, created the first Virtrotech MMORPG game only named Zion. Zion had a average player amount of 400 million per server and had a land area three times the size of earth and was a planet when viewed from space. Empires in Zion were literally built from the ground up and took many forms, from law abiding citizens to barbarian warlords. The game allowed players real free choice, and that their decisions were extremely influential. Magic and combat training took real time training and dedication to master and can be a master after a period of 30 real time years. Feeling that Zion would die without him, Him and his friends otherwise known as “The First Five” were put in stasis and were hardwired into the game where they have remained so for centurys. If they were to die in Zion, they would die in real life.

Decades later, Hackers began to appear in Zion. Their levels ranging from notice superhuman hackers to the god like hackers which have earned the name “Chosen Ones.” It wasn’t until the strongest hacker in history, a Chosen One known as Napoleon who had put himself in stasis untied these hackers and started the first Great War in 2171. Napoleon then fought Xavier to a fight to the death and lost, where Xavier personally executed him and banned him for life, therefore dying in the real world.

Remnants of Napoleons army are now looking for the Book of Ancients, the failsafe for all magic spells and powers. If the book were to be opened by anyone other than Xavier or his friends, it would result in a permanent ban. Having this knowledge, the hackers want to decode the book and then open it without harm. If it were to be open, Hackers would then become unstoppable and destroy all of Zion. Even with The First Fives “Forever Legion” and everyother empire destroying hacking, another war with the hackers would be devastating. You and a group of players are sent to get to the Book of Ancients before hackers get there first, with some help from Xavier himself...
