The Remaining Days (Post Manapocalypse OOC & Sign Ups) Peneia... a world far more advanced in technology than Equestria. Spoiler: World Info Technology, already great, was boosted further by the discovery of magical crystals. These energy stone, dug up from far beneath Peneia's surface, got merged with the technology that was made, turning naturally-made magic into batteries for smaller devices. Most of the devices used were for utility. The world was split into about 3 different continents. Greenland, Tauria, and Guardia. The world at large is populated by equinis faust, whom are an abnormal race of equines. There are a few different types of equinis faust. Ponies - With a talent in being average, they're better with regular skills than other members of the species. Drafts - Larger and stronger than the typical ponies, they're better at fighting, and doing manual labor. Pegasai - With the ability to fly, they're special talent is just that, the ability to fly. Unicorns - With a special talent in tapping into their inner powers, as well as those of the magical flow of energy on Peneia. Their talent is in casting spells or using other types of magical powers. Seaponies - The most numerous race of equinis faust, they populate the oceans of Peneia, and rarely come to shore. Breezies - A mythical pixie race of pony. Tiny and magically powerful. The world also has a number of humanoid canines on it, known to the ponies as "Diamond Dogs," they are bipedal, sentient, self-aware, and quite greedy. Living in the mountainous regions, they have been at odds with the ponies for more than five thousand years before peace was finally found between the two species. The Diamond Hoof Pact was signed to keep peace running between the two races, allowing them to integrate into pony society... but with two completely different forms of etiquette, tensions have never gone away. In 1780 C.D. the first mana crystal was discovered - found deep beneath Mount Behemoth when a mining expodition uncovered a large antechamber. Dumbfounded Unicorns found that the crystal was able to communicate on a telepathic level to those with magical awareness, and what they found from that was that the crystal itself was producing the magic that poured through their world. Quickly, the magic was turned into science, as teams of researchers dove into the hidden secrets behind the true source of magic. Magical stones were produced from this crystal, and soon "magic" became a new renewable energy source. The world began to convert towards this new, clean, and reusable energy. Then, from their research, scientists uncovered 8 more crystals. These crystals were quickly communicated with and used for their power. Stone - Found first under Mount Behemoth. Fire - Within the Glastros Volcano. Water - Eventually shared by the seaponies of the Tullia Ocean. Air - It the windy caverns high in the World Spine Mountains. Nature - Deep within the Redlands Forest. Life - Under the Fountains of Youth. Death - At the heart of the Deadlands. Ether - Protected by the Eternity Guardians at the heart of Mana's Veil Gorge. Chaos - Underground of the Wild Forest. Each element creates mana through gathering the element around it and shifts it out to be used by ponies and diamond dogs alike. The Ether crystal syphons mana essence through it and enhances its power, which gives the races of Peneia their high magical rate. Chaos pulls in the elemental mana floating about and twists it into elements that are missing, filling in the spectrum of magic. Each one is vital to Peneia's safety. Greenland has the lowest number of crystals, being home to the Nature and Chaos crystals. Tauria has Fire, and Death, and it's off their shores that Water is closest to. Guardia is where Stone was found, and where Ether, Life, and Air were found. So your world got blown up... kinda. Spoiler: Destruction As more and more magical energy began to be used, the crystals became fare more taxed than they ever had been. Magical rituals were being performed for very menial purposes, and stones known as "aspects" were being born for batteries all the time. Smaller, talking "companion gems" were being made and handed out to those who had enough bits to pay for them. This over-usage and flaunting began to anger the crystals. Magical technology advanced heavily, and pushed power to the brink... and the life on Peneia paid for their greed. When war broke out between Guardia and Greenland over control of the crystals, a battle broke out in the Chaos Crystal's Antechamber. This displeased it greatly, and in a violent explosion of energy, the crystal began to tear the land apart. Lives were swallowed as a chain reaction started, and the Nature Crystal joined in its divine judgment. The other crystals were quick to follow, and the world was torn apart. Everyone died... kinda. Spoiler: Death Tolls The shape of the land was changed permanently, and more than 95% of ponies and diamond dogs alike were wiped out by the destruction. In the waste-lands, life is rough... Spoiler: Life is Torment Now, the world is dotted with different continents. The only inhabitable places left for pony-kind is the wastelands. Paradise grows around the mana crystals... but so do monstrous guardians. Out of desperation for food, brave ponies have put to use the weapons of the world before destruction and have ventured into one of the Eight Lands of Paradise to obtain edible food, drinkable water, and any form of live-stock they can obtain. So who are you gonna be? You arrive at Iron Gate after wandering, one of the more impressive make-shift settlements found in the wastes, only a few hours trot from the Paradise of the Forest. Upon entering the gates, made of torn roof-tops and random scraps of broken vehicles and misc. metals, the guards stop you. It appears you must meet with someone to sign in. A diamond dog wearing a cracked red visor sits behind the desk of the guard post. Every new wanderer is sent to him by one of the town guards. His job? Well... He looks at you with disinterest and begins with his usual greeting. "Welcome to Iron Gate, wanderer. Haven't seen you around before. If you're smart, you'll stay here where it's safe. If you decide to stay, King Midas will take care of ya, long as you do some kinda work. Anyway, I need some basic information to know rationing, housing, etcetera. So let's see..." "Name, please. You do know your name, right?": Then he looks you over slowly to discern gender and type.: (Include gender, general appearance, and cutie mark please.) Spoiler: Species Options Pony - Normal Pony Draft - More Strength and Endurance, less Speed and Stealth Pegasus - The ability to fly is yours! Unicorn - With the ability to cast magic, and speak to mana gems. The downside is that unicorns cannot directly infuse with mana gems, while other forms of pony have the ability to through certain rituals, (which are ironicly performed by unicorns.) Diamond Dog - "Hey there brother/sister, enjoy your stay in Iron Gate." Silvermane Dragon - Silvermane dragons signed a pact with the unicorns a long time ago, so when the calamity occurred and the other draconic races escaped through the dimensional rift, the Silvermanes stayed behind to fulfill their pact. Silvermanes can cast magic, but are terrible when it comes to using anything with technology in it. "Now, what are you good at? Money's useless now, so what's your uhm... profession?": Spoiler: Class Options 1) "I'm a strong fighter!" Battler - "In melee, I'm skilled with a weapon." A Female, cyan Unicorn with a yellow mane steps up to the desk. Her Cutie Mark is a Dark Purple heart with a crack down the middle. She clears her throat before replying, "Call me Severed Heart. I follow the will of Sandro and seek to appease him, so that he may not take us...too soon." *wink* Name: Severed Heart Gender: Female Race: Unicorn Class: Dark Acolyte Story: Before the Disaster occurred, she was at a crossroads in her life. She knew she had always wanted to use magic, but she was undecided how she should apply it. Should she use her magic to help others by healing and protecting them, or should she use her magic to harm others and crush their spirits? Both would be helpful to the war effort, she knew, and she wanted to specialize in something… When the disaster happened, the decision was made for her. When the Death Crystal went into defensive mode, she saw firsthoof the terrifying power it had. It was like something…snapped…inside her. She knew that this was to be her path in life.
"You give me shivers, pony... but you're in luck. King Midas was lookin' for someone who could help in that department." I'm thinking of starting now and introducing ponies as they're accepted. Thoughts?
DUNDUNDUUUN! Of course this comes up at 6:00 AM my time. Lol @ totally copying Quill The light crimson unicorn with a white mane (that has a blue streak through it) walks forward with a suggestive sway of her flank, flashing her bone saw cutie mark just long enough on each side to get a look, her broken bone saw banging lightly against her side as she moved. She flashed her amber eyes at the greeter. "Hello. I have many names, but my mother called me Heartburn. Dreadful name for a lady, yes? Now, could you be a darling and open this gate for me? I really must get through to...heal some people. " Name: Heartburn Gender: Female Race: Unicorn Class: Mage Story: Heartburn had been travelling through the lands a sort of mercenary-medic. People hired her, and she bealed them. She happened to be on the ocean between Tauria and Guardia when the stones rebelled. Upon arriving on Guardia, she found it meshed and warped to the stone's liking. While utterly freaked out, she's used her skills as a doctor to keep herself alive and "borrow" supplies from "sleeping" ponies or people. If ponies don't need her medical assistance, she seduces them to get what she wants.
Oh, hehe. Didn't realize it was so early for you. :derpe: Okay, so since you have 30 Magic stat to start with as a Unicorn Mage, you get a whole bunch of spells, up to level 4. Two level 4s, four level 3s, six level 2s, eight level 1s, and eight level 0s. Since that doesn't mean much for you, we can just add spells as wel go. However, I'll give you the Heal spell for each level. Your spellbook is an old Acer tablet. You had been meaning to get an upgrade, but since the calamity occurred, you'd have to find one to get one. It runs on the power of magic, (which is what your spells run on too, incidentally.) The tablet holds up to 100 MP, and uses 1 every half hour. However, when casting spells, you can pull energy from the tablet that you've put into it already. Aside from that, you have 58 of your own MP. I'll keep track of all that in a sheets section later. Anyway, aside from the spells you also have your own personal unicorn powers of telekinesis, and there's also a calling ritual logged into the tablet that lets you attach "mana objects" to other ponies and diamond dogs. Sadly, it doesn't work on unicorns, but takes 2 unicorns to perform. Your tablet also has a copy of Angry Piglets, and a note-taking program for normal text or magical runes. Anything you want to alter?
Can I add a few spells right now? Heartburn knows an anesthetic spell, a cauterizing flame, and a (EXTREMELY weak) shield.

Her scarlet mane is in a tight bun under the dusty hat. She has a sandy coloured coat under the thick, scarred leather. Underneath that coat is a cutie mark of an open book. A holster under the coat is just about visible. "Ugh...Mary Sue." "Now, what are you good at? Money's useless now, so what's your uhm... profession?": "I'm a...Was a reporter. I got the goods on an illegal Dragon Egg racket. I was about to be come a best seller, who the hell do you think you are pushing us around?! We got enough problems without you making hell that little bit worse! Got that?!" "Alright, that's that. Have a seat to the left and we'll see what we can do." "You do that..." Name: Mary Sue Gender: Female Race: Earth Pony Class: Shooter Story: Mary Sue was a reporter, well-respected and high-achieving although not overly liked. She was infamous for pushing ponies hard for results and becoming a one-mare police-unit when a story rode on something. She had managed to make a name for herself with her ability to pry into lives and gain information. She was about to release a romance novel based on a story that she was ordered to keep under wraps. At least, for a year or two... She managed to survive the event, using her special skills as a reporter to bully and badger her way into whatever she needed.

Any attempt to get emotions through is gonna fail.
Sleep, cauterize, and a level 1 or 2 shield. Got. Sleep is also a multi-level spell. Do you want it in all the levels as well, or just the earlier ones? Alright Mary Sue. Since you're a Shooter, you get your choice of gun. Aspect Thrower - It's a head-piece, like a half helmet or a scouter, but it has a barrel on the side that fires off magical element. Costs a small amount of MP with each shot. As a shooter, you start with 18 MP, meaning you'd have about 9 shots before you're spent. MP comes back for you at about 3 points every two hours. It becomes 2 points an hour at 20 MP, which would be after gaining one level. The Back Strapped - Basically a gun that fires in the direction you're aiming. Powerful, but hard to aim with. Not mana based. The "Wristwatch" - A gun that goes around the inside of a pony's fore-hoof. Basically you aim with one hoof and press the firing mechanism with the other while on hind-legs. Can be solid ammo or mana ammo. Pistol - Actually made for Diamond Dogs. Ponies don't have the finger dexterity to fire it, really. >.>
Inferno starts with a pair of incindiary grenades, then. You shoulda just copied part of the post, instead of the whole spoiler. :derpe: Anyway, I'll insert ya'll very soon.
Actually, I kinda... did. Didn't mention you by name, but the two of you are in the office where the diamond dog is. Wait, duh, Jhera's the other mage huh? Uhh, hang on. I think I got mixed around.
