During the cold-war period between China and the recently unified North America during the late 2040's, Gabriel lied about his age and enlisted into the military at 16. When he was drafted into the Army Rangers, he stood out from the crowd due to his combat prowess and went back and forth between the military brass until finally finding a place in a Special Forces unit. After only recently retiring from active service to enjoy a quiet life in Alaska, tensions between China and America could affect him once more and force him to take up arms once again.
