Now I know this is probably not changeable and if it is it must take a lot of work but honestly the fact that almost all the pictures I find on the internet that I want to put in my signature have to be compressed to a smaller file is pretty annoying. I know it is kinda a stupid complaint but when I go onto other forums I have much higher limits. So can you please explain why the cap is so small and if you can change it?
Rather than using the signature picture upload system, most people host the image externally (imageshack, photobucket etc) and wrap it inside IMG][/IMG tags. The reason it's so small is because we don't - really - want people uploading lots of huge images to the database, avatars are one thing but we prefer people host their signature images externally.
Smaller file sizes wouldn't be a bad thing, would save my PC having to load dozens of naff gif's in signatures.
If they bother you that much, disable sigs in your profile settings. Or If you use Adblock Plus and just want to hide the images use custom filters: everypony.com##div.signaturecontainer > img everypony.com##div.signaturecontainer > div > img everypony.com##div.signaturecontainer > div > div > img
I just turned off sigs, cause Snow's (as awesome as it is) causes massive lag for mah slow internets.
