As the group walks into the portal, they descend into a flurry of movements, throwing them around like dolls and shaking them into tunnels of interdimensional energy while the gate transmits them to their destined location. Finally they reach ground, as a gentle and careful force sets them down on a floor, suspended in complete darkness. Not a single sound, except their companions breaths is heard, echoing around the empty darkness around them. Nothing is infront of them, no wall is hindering them from progressing forward and the open space around them gives them the opportunity to move in whatever direction they please. The air around them feels cold and desolate, a small cloud of steam forming with each time they breath. They also soon find out that anything they had been carrying when they entered the portal was now gone, leaving them only to their strengths and abilities if they were gonna succeed this. But, unfortunately for them, the event itself hasn't started yet and the host is currently nowhere to be seen... yet. (Current music playing: No music.)
Cyanside was the first to break the silence. "We'll that was certainly weird...And this place is pretty weird too. How do we know which way we're going in all this...nothing?" In the privacy of her mind Shadow spoke to her 'Cyanside, when we went through that portal I sensed that my lighter dissipated, I can't use any of my Blaze abilities unless lit by an external source...Hopefully there isn't anything too strong in here.'
Jay looked around and answered Cyanside "Well, ahm sure we'll find out."Jay then taps the floor lightly, hearing only a light clop each time he hit the ground "In the mean time, let's walk in a ramdon direccion and see what happ'ns. Aahh, ah like this cold."
"WHERE IS IT!?" Fair Capriccio wailed. She hopped about the nonexistant floor, searching for the weight that had just left her back. "I swear, I had it just moments ago! It's gone, didn't I have it? I had it!" She dashed to Jay and intercepted him, grabbing him by the face. "Have you seen my flugelhorn!?" she about shouted at him.
"Whoa girl.." murmured Jade softly. "We'll figure this out. In the meantime, anypony have anyway to light up the world?" she asked softly.
"No fire or heat spells here, sorry. I'm extremely skilled in any ice or cold spell be it advanced blizzards to the simplest spell of creating snowflakes. So unless you want to be cold, don't ask me".
"Hmm...do you think you would be able to do a cold fire spell. You know how sometimes you touch something that's really cold but it's so cold that it seems like it burns? Try doing that with your magic, it's worth a shot. Right?"
A low hum was suddenly heard from Cyansides back, the group turning to see a sleek, animated glass statue of a human without any pointy edges, not even his face which instead was a LCD screen showing different emotes in all kinds of colors, all the while sitting on Cyansides back without emitting any kind of weight for her to make up for in any way. The man turned his finger to point at Fair. "Uuuhhh, you can have your horn back if ya want to, seeing as you seem abit desperate to have it in your possession." He then lowered his finger and rested it on his knee. "And don't think its gonna work with lighting this place up, 'cus it pretty much eats light sources." He yawned slightly and stretched his arms up in the air. "Aaand you've kinda gotten here too soon, so i'm not really ready to start this just yet... but that gives us time to-" He paused to yawn once more. "-to give you guys abit information while everything is quiet." He turned his head to look at Cyanside "Hey, can i sit on your back for a while just as i talk? It's really comfy and nice and furry and stuff..."
Frozen shadow thought for a second trying to think of a spell... He couldnt. "I don't know one exactly but I could use the only fire spell I know with a frostbite spell. The fire spell is just a simple lighter spell. The sort you would use to light a cigar." he focused hard and it worked for about 10 minutes. A small spark from it landed on Cyans flank.
"Ow!" Cyanside started, rubbing her flank after the accidental attack. "I didn't mean for you to light me up...err...It occurred to me I don't know any of your names, and the Screen-man is right, it is pretty quiet. Perhaps we should take this time to introduce ourselves. I'm Cyanside, and I do stuff for a living. Nice to meet you all...except for maybe you Screen-man, what are you doing here?"
The man raised up a hand and pointed a finger in the air before answering Cyansides question "I am... well, you'll see soon enough." He then turned to look at the others. "But you're not the only one who wants to know the names of these fascinating creatures!" His face turned to one of excitement, brightly glowing cyan blue as he pushes two fingers together to form a bow upwards and tilting his head to the side, eager to listen to the others. "And you may call me Screen-man for the time being, i quite like that name."
"Erm... Well, I'm Jaden Bite, but ponies call me Jade..." she said quietly, squirming uncomfortably, her horn lighting up with a blue light, slightly illuminating the ponies around her. The others could now see that Jade had large brown eyes, and blackish blue spots littering her body.
"The name's Jay, and if ya'll think ahm an alicorn, ya'll are wrong. Am an Earth Pony. It's just that ah was born with a strange yet rare sickness that the wings and horn are malformations in me. Yes ah can use them, but ah can't fly, yet the only magic ah can use is levitation, so yeah. Thats about it." Jay said in a very happy tone "Oh, and ah also sell spices and peppers, if anyone is interested."
"I'm Shadow strider. Shadow for short. Nice to meet everypony. Wait....wheres my sword. has anyone seen a huge black and white sword?" Shadow asked as he walked around looking for any signs of his sword or an excape.
"well, names frozen shadow. Master and controller of ice. I work as a commander for Celestia's winter guard and I am always in charge of anything relating to ice and that's about it"
Uses a fire spell to illuminate the area around everypony. "Where are we?" Looks around trying to make out any suroundings. "Hey screen-man, why were all our items taken?" "Also how do we get them back?"
"Ah yes!" The glass man stretched up and his face showed a smiley "Your weapons and items have been removed from your possession to be sure that they wont be used in a way that is against the rules of the competiton! You'll be granted them back when this is all over!" Then he turned to look at the frantic Fair "But, in the instance that the object is required for the competitors sane mind to be intact, it will be given but locked of its useability to ensure that the competitor wont cheat against the others." Screen-man said it in a informative, almost robotic voice, and held a hand out towards Fair. Her Fooglehorn soon materialized out of mere digital pixels, landing safely on his transparent hand. Its nozzle had been plugged, enstrengthening what he had said before. "And i can see that we have one of those cases standing with us. But do not fret, your items are in a totally safe and unbreakable storage, to ensure that nothing will get stolen or destroyed!" His face returned to a normal smiley after he had finished talking, and he waited for Fair to grab the Fooglehorn. "I tried to play it, but i had little to no success."
Fair quickly snatched the horn out of 'Screen-man's hand. She cradled it gently at her side and tied it back around her. When she was satisfied with the knot, she prodded at the plug, frowning. I'll have to find a way to get that out while he's not looking, she thought with mild annoyance. She reurned the 'Screen-man's smiley. "Thank you! I'm not sure what I'd do without... did you say you tried to play it?" Fair's eye twitched and she took a deep breath. Some people have no decency...
Jaden smiled, humming a sweet tune under her breath. She sat down, wondering how long until they could get moving. She looked nervously over her shoulder, at the shimmering portal. "Um.. Not to be rude Mr. Screenman, but do you know of a place where we could discuss this beautiful.. um.. dark land further without having to... um... worry about whatever may be out here?" she asked nervously, peering behind her again.
"Your right Jaden we need a change of scenery." Shadow started to walk around. "Not that i dislike the dark, i quite like it actualy." "By the way Screen-man when i get my sword, because i will, you'll be sorry you took it away." >
