First off: Admins, don't move this to the media/video games section. Virtually nopony goes there... and I'd hate to see this thread go there, unnoticed. Second: Hwoarang is the best. Followed by Baek Doo San. Third: I said I'd make a Tekken thread, so here it is. Now keep it up here; I don't like it when things I create die. :Trollestia:
this is one of games that followed me trough childhood, and I still love it. I actually like all the characters, and I play equally good with all of them :derpe:
Ah, see, that's where you're good. I'm only good with Hwoarang and Baek; I suck with everyone else. In fact, I used to use Yoshimitsu but he became too advanced later on in Tekken 5. His T6 version is... weak, to say the least.
Loved this game, it is the second best fighting game I have ever played, beaten by Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Soul Caliber IV comes close after it. The best characters are Baek, followed by Hwoarang. But I maybe biased as I used to do Teakwondo and I even got pretty far in National Tornaments for it, so I relate to their fighting styles. I have favourited just about every character for a certain amount of time. Some of the best include Baek: Why ever use your fists, when you have legs. Hwoarang: A complex and rewarding, fighting style, I should know, I learned this martial art. Julia: I was deadly with her and could rarely be beaten. Steve Fox: I found his very unique fists only fighting style very fun to master. Jin (2nd fighting style): Simply awesome. Xioau: Frustrating my opponents with flips made me lmao. Fighting with my back to my opponent, help rub salt in to wound of the opponent I was embarrising even more. Anna: Her groin kick unsurprisingly powerful. Gon: only appeared in 3 and isn't even mention in the wikipedia page. He was a cheap and pretty much cheat character, but I love kicking ass with the unusual wtf characters. Wang: Old man huh, let me show you what an old man can do! Bob: Like Gon loved how unusual he was, a morbidly obese fight, all the more satisfying when I beat you with him. Miguiel: His fighting style is hilarious, he looks like he bored and isn't taking the fight seriously, all his moves look like he isn't expending any energy cause he's that confident you aren't a challenge.
Time to play each other on Tekken 6 for PS3! :derpe: I miss Gon...too bad he was only in TK3, which I owned for PS1.
I wish I could, but I dunno if you remember in a post I made a while ago, I talked about how a housemate stole my PS3 controller, it was my only PS3 controller. I can't imagine it would be very competitive for me to try and play it on a drumset or guitar controller. I'm probably rusty anyway.
Yes, I heard that someone took your controller. I assumed you had an extra one. I also rarely play all my old games, so I'm rusty too.
my best characters where eddie gordo, steve fox, and bob and maybe a little bit of miguel ( i love his culture btw x3 i always wanted to go to spain) though my brother always beats the crap out of me with king lol
When I first picked up Tekken 3, I played The Gordo (Yeah, I called him that) all the time. I once got a Double Perfect on a Jin at a tournament in Dallas one year; I won that. Easiest 200 bucks I ever won. Tekken 4, I never bought. I prefer the Language Barrier to exist. T5 was incredible; I didn't know that Eddy was in the game (But only available as an extra costume for Christie), so I mained Hwoarang. Best decision I ever made. I'm quite good with Tae Kwon Do, Got myself a First Degree Black Belt with it... when I was 15. I'm hella rusty with it now. Baek was my secondary the whole way through, and I mained him in T2. Bob is unorthodox, quick, and powerful like Rufus from street fighter. They're going to be a commonplace matchup in many matches, I know that. (I'm referring to Street Fighter x Tekken) But Hwoarang/Ryu team... too good to be true. Definately going to be a great team build. Also, it looks like Hwoarang does only kicks in SFxT. No punches, which is weird, since Tae Kwon Do also uses punches, but they are known for their ferocious kicks.
any takers on raven? he was one of the hardest characters to use in my opinion, Oh! and i also forgot to mention that im pretty killer with dragunov as well
Time for me to go off-topic. Too bad I can't get any new games since I'm going to be waiting for ToG next. So I guess I'll stick with my other games for now.
I agree, Raven is a High Risk, Extremely High Reward character. He's the hardest to use, next to Yoshimitsu, and Dragunov is a beast...
Julia probably was my deadliest character, if I started to lose and I changed to Julia, my opponents were like, OH $#%^ he's using Julia we're screwed. I was probably just as good with Baek too. I tend to only use my best characters when my reputation is getting challenged with loses and I'm like okay fine, Secret Weapon Julia time.
Strangely enough, Julia isn't really high ranked in Tier Lists. Bryan Fury, Bob, and Law are top tier. Oh, and Miguel uses brawling; he doesn't have a specific style, he just uses random punches and kicks to make ends meet. The true "Freestyle Fighter".
Yeah, wishing you luck here. You're gonna get a ton of hate online for picking Bryan. I get tons of respect for picking Yoshi and Raven.
