So. I'm probably just stating something that is obvious to all you smarticle ponies/foxes out there (Yes, I'm looking at you, Tyro), but. I just noticed that Twilight aquired the knowledge of the Time Travel spells from herself. That means that, in effect, she pulled that knowledge out of thin air. She didn't even know about the Starswirl the Bearded Wing until her future self told her, at which point she knew. But her future self learned it from her future self when her future self was her past self, and so on. Therefore, her knowledge of the Starswirl the Bearded Wing, and more importantly the Time spells, effectively came from nowhere. I really hate discussing stuff like this, it makes my brain hurt...but at the same time it's SO INTERESTING!
I bet this guy had something to do with it. He invented time travel, he suddenly realized everypony in the future may screw it up, he went off to fix the wrongs people had done with it. ... ... ... ...oh my Celestia... Dr. Whooves is Starswirl the Bearded.
Heh, this reminds me of the song of storms paradox :3 Also, did anypony notice that "Future" Twilight kinda looks like Snake? Anypony?

The Doctor can explain this problem
The knowledge did not spring from nowhere. It is easily explained through stable and unstable time loops. Let us consider a more generic scenario. We have an ignorant hero who derps up. That hero travels back in time to talk to himself and warn himself, thus, averting the disaster. Then, after, the new warned hero tells his past self about the problems, and thus creates a stable time loop. The hero who DID derp, however, is part of an unstable time loop, and thus ceased to exist. Homestuck makes you understand weird time ****.
Ahahah! The moment I saw your mention of Homestuck, I got your signature! More on topic: How does the original cease to exist? Just sorta disappearing? I see how eliminating the original would cause the space to make sense, but you just divided the original completely out of the factor. What happens to him?
Well, strictly speaking, when we get to the second time line, the first time line never existed in the first place...
I GOT IT!!!! * DR WHOOVES TOLD THE FIRST TWILIGHT!!!!! *Then ... Awwwwwww pony feathers. I don't got it.
