The Two Kingdoms: Role Play

"He was a strong warrior. What a pity."
Princess Luna spoke sadly as Silver Crescent buried yet another would-be assassin.

"That is the second one this week, Princess.
They have left you alone for so many years. I do not understand why it is suddenly a priority to destroy you."
Silver looked at the Night Princess.
"I believe that the time has come for us to strike back.
We may find allies in Ellion."

 

Cobraheart walked up to Luna. "I know I was given the prior mission by Celestia but once travelling their Venquis, lance and I feel its not worth to be destroyed more a matter of diplomacy and Unity than soldiers and Dictators".

 

"Cobraheart? What in Equestria are you doing in the Everfree Forest?
Come up to the castle, we'll talk there. The Princess and I are preparing to travel to Ellion.
We're leaving at nightfall."
Silver led the Cobraheart through the forest to the ruins of Castle Harmony.
The courtyard was filled with an assortment of woodland creatures, running happily back and forth.
In one corner, a Timber-Wolf was sleeping on an old stone bench.
As Silver walked up, she yawned and got slowly to her feet.
Silver patted Holly's head.
"Finally awake, old girl? Feel up to an adventure?"

Silver turned to Cobraheart.
"So... you mentioned Celestia.
Does she still live? I haven't heard news of her in... Princess, how long has it been?"

Luna looked sadly at the ground. "Almost twenty years. My sister and I have not spoken since..."
Her voice trailed off, and she appeared to be close to tears.

 

"Well you see, Celestia is now pretty ruthless calling herself Empress Celestia of the Equestrian Empire. Taking over pretty much every land on this continent from the griffin empire to Zebrica and boardor. Now she wants to head over sea's to invade Ellion and claim it for her own. I've been there before and I am pretty sure celestia sent me to protect it not help overthrow".

 

"So, it is as I suspected. Her abdication was a ruse, after all."
Silver began tossing supplies into his saddle bag.
"I should have trusted my instincts years ago."

Luna's face darkened.
"My sister is not evil! There must be some other explanation for this!
Could a Changeling have taken the throne?"
The Night Princess was desperate. She didn't want to believe that Celestia had become evil.
Of course, after Princess Twilight disappeared, Celestia had changed...

Silver interrupted her train of thought.
"Anything is possible, Princess.
It's time to fly. I'll carry Holly."

He turned his attention back to Cobraheart.
"We're leaving. You may fly with us, if you wish.
If we travel quickly, we should reach Ellion by daybreak."

 

"Im with you. It would prove useful to get a Ryborian I worked with first. He'll probably be at the sleeping dragon inn. Follow me". He took to the skies with Luna following till they reached the inn. "Ask for the manager, his name is Venquis".

 

(Might as well prolong another amazing entrance by Ven. It might make more of a surprise.)

Venquis was working inside of his bar. It was around sunset and the tavern was always full at this time of the day. Drunken laughter filled the air alongside the talking that made the environment of the tavern so welcoming. He was busy cleaning a dirty cup when he noticed Corba walk into his tavern accompanied with another stranger, a night guard and Princess Luna herself. The tavern fell silent at the sight of the Princess before it erupted into a spontaneous cheer. He turned around, he didnt expect the Princess to be inside his tavern. He was dressed in dirty robes and she said nothing about a visit, so this must have been a unscheduled stop. But if she wasn't in power, what is she doing here?

"Good to see you again Cobra. And what a surprise, Princess Luna. I would have prepared if you were going to arrive, but i had no word about it. What brings you guys out this far into Equestria's outskirts?" Venquis said. He had never met this night guard however, he cannot remember the last time he had seen one.

 

Yclept was sitting in a corner of the tavern, aiming towards the front with his hood all the way up, hiding his face as he drank mead

 

Obsidian sat on the roof of a building across from a bar. He didn't care much for the places, but knew that they were necesary relief from the stresses of life. He would probably have not even been that far out towards the Ellion border had he not seen the two pegasi and one of the princesses he had heard about through his telescope. He wished to know more about the princesses which he had only heard about in stories from his previous care-takers. The dragons, while respectful of them, were not big fans, but the ponies and zebras respected them as great rulers, with skills and knowledge that would make anyone else look foolish. He started to write in a small notebook, speaking aloud as he did. "Saw alicorn princess enter bar. Two pegasus's guards. Keep eye on tavern." He smiled and stashed the notebook and pencil in a small bag around his neck.

 

"To cut a long story short, remember Ellion well 'Empress' Celestia wants to claim it for herself. Like she did with every country on this continent. We are here to stop her. So... You in". he smiled grabbing a drink and removing a cloak which revealed the elegant design of the now outlawed Order of the Nightingale blades. A secret band of duelist's dedicated to the night princess.

Spoiler: His Armour but ponified

 

In a far corner of the tavern, seated behind a table with her back to a wall was a pony the color of tanzanite. Her topaz mane hung over her shoulder, tied in a ponytail, as Crystal Empire fashion dictated. What Crystal Empire fashion didn't dictate, however, were the two small pigtails on the top of her head.

At the moment, she was leaning against something long, thin, and wrapped in a purple sheet, and lightly dozing. The past few nights had been hard on her, the reign of The Dark King still weighed heavily on her mind and she suffered terrible nightmares because of it...

Thankfully, the atmosphere of this place did much to ease her tensions, and despite only napping for less than an hour, she felt it was the best sleep she'd had in days.

Presently, she awoke to find one of the Sister Saviors entering the tavern with two bodyguards. This event piqued her curiosity, since it also appeared that the barkeep himself had taken an interest in this event, and had in fact struck up a conversation with the Princess and her escorts.

For the moment, she elected to sit back and listen.

 

Venquis thought about Cobra's offer. It seemed like Celestia was beginning to turn in Emperor Eclipse and Sombra, who were infamous for becoming mad with power. It seemed that this 'Empress Celestia' had changed during the course of several years. She had turned from a benevolent leader to a ruthless dictator. He had lived during the life of a dictator, a dictator that almost wiped out his entire race. He will never let that happen.

"I'll just go upstairs to get my armor and Moonsaber.Say no more about Celestia, it'll be a pleasure to fight alongside you again." Venquis said, as he went to walk upstairs. When he came down, he was dressed in full armor and walked down with his spellsword. He hopefully didn't need to kill another dictator as he could tell in Luna's face, but was ready for anything.

(Being a former Spellsword, Venquis has his armor below with his longcoat. Loki's armor is the closest i could come up with to a realistic model in my mind.)

 

Obsidian leapt from the roof, landing with a roll and standing mere feet from the door. He needed a closer look at the alicorn. He walked in, noticing the bartender seem to head upstairs at the request of the royal party. He would have gone to the alicorn had something else not caught his eye. He noticed a pony that seemed to be made of glistening gems. He blindly started walking towards her, pulling himself away at the last second and pushing himself into a table nearby, facing away from the crystal pony. He felt awkward slightly, and put one hoof on his horns and sighed to relax himself.

 

Yclept saw the bartender walk up the stairs, & started to consider stealing something from the tavern

 

Silver looked around the tavern.
It was far too crowded for his liking. Security would be difficult.
He had noticed a Deer watching from a nearby rooftop as the trio had entered.
When the Deer entered, Silver drew his sword and approached him.
"You're trying a little bit TOO hard to be inconspicuous. I will ask you this only once...
Why are you so interested in the Night Princess?"

Holly stood beside Silver and growled menacingly.

 

Star Shimmer is not a fighter. She was not raised from foalhood to home her body into a deadly fighting machine, every sense dedicated to the singular task of killing her opponent.

This bears mentioning because she didn't immediately notice the deer approaching her as she listened to the royal party's conversation with the barkeeper.

She only took notice as he turned away from her, placing his hoof on his head as if he was confused about something.

She recalled that she had never actually spoken to a real life deer before, and such a thing would be worth writing a out in her journal. She smiled to herself as she took a couple steps towed the deer.

"Hello there." She waved a hoof as she spoke. "I..." She suddenly found herself tongue tied. She had no idea what to talk about, and secretly hoped he'd continue the conversation...

 

Obsidian turned up to Silver. "I am... was raised by many different races of all over Equestria. I like ones I have not seen before. Many of my carer's spoke highly of alicorns." He smiled awkwardly at Silver. "Even have dragon's respect. They must be very strong and wise for that!"

He had been distracted by Silver, thus missing Star.

 

"If you wish to fight, take it outside." the Ryborian said. "If you fail to do so, you will be thrown out the moment you blink again. And if you threaten to kill me, i will respond in kind in an act of self defense." He had seen many fights in his tavern. He had seen the common drunken brawl with hoofs, a pool cue, even farming equipment. But this is his first time that a sword was drawn in the tavern. Those who had swords would not dare draw it in front of Ven.
