Alright, when you are ready Dreamer, we might as well begin. No need for a fancy introduction at the moment.
(lets see who to use as characters...) "This will be quite de adventure, wunt it?" The zebra sat at a table surrounded by his allies. They were preparing their gear to head out for battle. A somewhat elderly gryphon beside him slapped the back of his head. "No. An adventure is across a whole bunch of land. Deuling many enemies one on one. This is war. We will be battling many enemies whose identity dont matter. We are the weapons of war. Adventurers are the conductors. We are the baton itself." "You ain't very pos'tive are ya?" The zebra replied as he mixed a small amount of a leaf into a potion in front of him.
A very young Equestrian Pegasi sat at the table, her mane a brilliant white. Dressed in her standard armor, she spoke up. "You've obviously seen this type of war before. After what she's doing in the homeland, I wont be surprised that it's about time that they took the fight to her." Leaning across the back of a wall was a red maned Ryborian with a matching goatee, who appeared to be at least 2,500 years old. Despite his age (Appearing as if he was 55-65 in physical form), he remembered that all of the Elder's of his race were killed during the Black War which almost spelled extinction of his race by the Equestrians centuries prior. The last thing he ever wanted was a repeat of that event. "I can all see the fear in your eyes." He spoke in his deep bartone voice. "And I partially agree with our Griffon friend, but we must face conflict at least once in our lives." (I was going to add a third character, but I don't want to overcrowd myself.)
"Yet for one of your species... this will be the second time, isn't it? War... blah. I am obliged to help my people, because we cannot be killed off as a species... if I must die for it, so be it." The gryphon slipped on his helmet with a grunt. "Ya shuld try ta have some fun out there. If you gonna die, do it on your terms. Don't let da enemy enjoy it. Besides. Something tellin me we gonna survive dis battle." The zebra strapped the bottle to a strap around his neck, alongside several others. "So, I dunno about ya, but I'm gonna be a name ya will remember when I pass. Naara."
The Ryborian, already dressed in a deep red and yellow flame detailed Spell-Sword armor went outside, attaching a steel necklace around his neck of the goddess Sihana as he went following after Narra. All Ryborians used Spell-Sword armor, but not all of them have Spell-Swords, some prefering basic weaponry such as normal swords and axes, and staffs for the mages. However, something about this Ryborian seemed off. He did not have one Spell-Sword, but two matching Spell-Swords. Unless the Ryborian in particular is a master of dual wielding, it would have taken years to learn how to use both of them effectively. The younger mare, who appeared to have just turned 18, placed her helmet onto her head and spread open her wings as she flew out of the door. She knew nothing of her own force, with the exception that it was very small. However, she also knew nothing about the Equestrian Empire's enormous legion either. For her, this was likely the first and possibly the last time she was going to war. (Another reason about Spell-Swords not being available to everybody is that they are known to be extremely difficult to make so they are in a somewhat short supply, in that only the Ryborians have been able to create and perfect them. Over the course of history, other races (Especially the Equestrians and other previous and extinct races with magical capabilities) have tried and failed every time they attempted to create their own versions. Most swords can take a month or longer to forge, where as a Spell-Sword can take as long as an entire year.) ( Dreamer I understand if you have been busy and not been able to post, I've just churned out this as it was the moment I returned from my holiday.)
(Oh, yea. sorry >.> and welcome back (if your back)) "Perhaps we should all know each other's name if we are to fight at each other's side..." The gryphon grunted as he walked behind the small group. "Sounds fair ta me old one. I say da miss go first." Naara nudged the pegasus.
"I'm....I'm Peppermint Surprise." The Pegasus said. "I'm 18 and I enlisted to fight against the Phoenix Queen because her Solar Flares killed my parents." All eyes were now upon the Ryborian standing nearby, finishing off a quick blessing before noticing the eyes falling upon him. He looked up and nodded. "Tyren" He simply stated. "I'll tell you more about myself if we survive this battle."
"I would expect no less from someone who seems so certain. And I'm quite sorry about your parents... War is fought on many more fronts than it should." The gryphon coughed. "Bertram the broken. I would prefer if you referred to me by the whole title." Naara nodded in front of him, acting like it was him acknowledging everyone. "Da battlefields be our land for the staining of solah flare blood. May da gods bring us strength." "Most zebras wish for wisdom from their gods, do they not?" "I ain't most zebra, friend." Naara's face became an almost wicked smile as he began running ahead of the group.
Tyren then walked ahead of the group slowly, picking up pace with every step. He looked ahead of a the field, being able to see a slow distant mass far away in the distance that he could tell was the two million strong Equestrian invasion force coming over a large hill as the Ryborian looked across the enormous open field leading to the city walls. With only 25,000 being able to defend the New Crystal Empire from being destroyed, the prospects of the battle would have ended up as a massacre. Instead, Tyren had a smile on his face. "In the name of Sihana and the Nine Divines. Impure souls of thy enemy shall be banished into eternal damnation. Amen." He said to nobody in particular, pulling out two spell-swords before deciding to catch up to Narra. Peppermint decided to stick with the main force, not wanting to get isolated and killed. "You can all just call me Pepper for short, let's hope we survive the coming storm."
Naara stopped, standing basically alone. "Time for da show." He drank a red potion from his necklace and stared up at the incoming army.
Tyren stood nearby Naara smiling. He twirled the Spell-Swords around before looking at his enemy, he then looked at his chain once more before lifting it and giving a gentle kiss, hoping that the Divine's could keep him safe in the battle. Pepper was nearby Bertram for being an ally and hoping that his experience in war could keep him alive. She was very under experienced, and could always help with a friend despite his...perception of war. Nonetheless, she was nearby the frontlines and was ready to fight her hardest. Once slip up, and she is doomed. Pepper was very nervous, and also very scared...
(not dead. I'm... having a hard time working out what to put, and I keep getting interupted. >.>) Naara growled as he seemed to become physically stronger. "Your divines... They gonna protect you. My potions. They gonna protect me!" He laughed as the first line of Equestrian's grew closer. "Be ready, dear. This is the reason we are here. It's too late top run, let us hope fate lies with us today..."
Tyren spun his sword slightly and pointed them straight at the Equestrian army. He then looked amongst the rest of the front line, seeing other Ryborian soliders like him who were ready to gain their revenge from the Equestrian's taking their homeland, and if they were old enough, revenge for the Black War's genocide. The archers in the second line aimed into the air, their arrows enchanted with poison and ice. As soon as the Equestrian army had made their way down from the hill, all of them began to charge towards the alliance against Equestria. For the first time in what seemed like an eternity, Tyren was finally going to get avenge the ones he lost during the war. When the Equestrian's had made it to a distance of between 600 meters, the archers of the Allied forces unleashed their arrows upon the Equestrians. There was a roar from the Allied Army as they slowly began to advance towards the Equestrians. All of a sudden, Tyren just ran ahead in front of the army at an phenomenal speed, even by Ryborian standards, was ridiculously fast. Not long after him, the front line charged. Tyren had not only officially begun the battle, but just steam-rolled through the front line and sent roughly fifty soldiers flying into the air. The front line eventually joined him roughly ten seconds later, struggling to keep up. The Battle had officially begun. ---------------------------- Pepper got her sword and began to charge, yelling her battle-cry as she began to charge alongside the rest of the army.
Naara let out a booming laugh before charging in. He collided with several Equestriians, knocking them down to be trampled by the two forces, several blades hit his side, and seemingly did nothing. His bright smile was all that was visible as he carreened through the forces in a U shape, eventually returning to the allied forces, a few feet from Pepper and Bertram. Bertram was clawing soldiers as they got near, trrrying to keep an eye on Pepper at the same time. His talons topre through any skin they hit and easily grabbed blades, which he was quick to dispose of into the air above the enemy forces, whenever he could.
Despite the large amount of Equestrian soldiers coming from her at every side, Pepper remained cool under such pressures and actually began to cut down her enemies like the other mentors she was with. She turned out to be quite talented at swordsmanship despite never picking one up before, possibly a natural. Her biggest weakness was her age and experience in swordsmanship, she would be killed if it were not for a mentor like figure at her side. Pepper seemed to be sticking with Bertram, but she knew she was way out of her league when she seen Naara and Tyren massacre the Equestrians about two hundred meters. ------------------------------------------------- Tyren obliterated the soldiers that came across him, slashing the soldiers with his two Spell-Swords as he performed magic and his unbelievable physical powers. He threw seven soldiers into the air and killed them all, dismembering them like it was nothing. He could even kill Equestrian Pegasi while in flight, boosting himself from a magic platform and intercepting them at brilliant speeds. Tyren was dealing death by the dozen. Anything that even came close to him was mowed down. It seemed Tyren was unstoppable. (Fun Fact: I based Venquis & Tyren's swordsmanship and style through this, with the addition that a Spell-Sword can also be used as a staff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34NfuVCrfok)
"Perhaps Naara knew what he was saying when he said we'd survive." The gryphon was suddenly slammed in the head, knocking him over. A lone solar flare stood among the army of ordinary soldiers, glaring at Bertram and following the direction of his helmet towards mint. Naara slid to a stop near Tyren. "Ya a big force, man. Gotta say I'm impressed." He took a deep breath before charging at a another group and sending them flying into the air and yelling "Strike!"
Tyren seen a group of Pegasi Solar Flares approaching the main forces, and wasted no time catching up to them. Magically launching himself from the ground below like a cannon, he threw one of his Spell-Swords with impossible accuracy into the air as it slammed into the chest of another Flare, killing the Flare and caused him to fall downwards towards the earth. As the Flare fell, Tyren took the sword out from the dead Flare and rushed towards the group of Flares. Upon reaching the Flares, nearly oblivious to the presence to the Ryborian upon not reacting fast enough, found themselves dead within a few seconds. All of the Flares fell towards the earth, landing hard onto a group of Equestrian Rangers. While falling down from the earth, Tyren seen Bertram and Peppermint in trouble as he witnessed Bertram get slammed onto the ground. As the Flare began to advance towards Pepper, Tyren launched himself again towards the direction of the main force and landed inches behind the Flare. As the Flare raised his great-sword into the air, Tyren cut the Flare in half with his Spell-Sword as he quickly turned around and killed another Flare behind him. He turned around and launched across the battlefield, as he fell towards the Equestrian force. His two spell-swords lit up with their signature blue light across the symbols of the sword as Tyren echoed a war-cry as he fell. The moment he made contact with the ground, he slammed his swords into the ground that created a very powerful shock-wave that knocked down anything within 300 meters with enough kinetic force to blow up an entire three story building. Those that did survive suffered huge amounts of trauma and multiple broken bones. The Ryborian's eyes lit up as he looked around for anything else to wipe from existence.
Naara was sent to the ground by Tyren's attack, and he quickly struggled back up, watching Tyren in awe. Bertram stood up and grabbed the helmet of the flare and hooked it to his armor, before walking over to peppermint. "Come, we must get back to this quickly if we want to be of use... You are alright?"
Peppermint got up, seemingly unharmed despite being a little winded. "I'm OK. Never expected that to happen." She looked towards Bertram and walked over towards him, her armor and weaponry still intact. "Let's continue... ------------- Just after the shock-wave had ended, Tyren looked at a large cluster of surviving Equestrians numbering in their hundreds appearing confused and dazed from what had just happened. All of them were of different rank and affiliation, from a standard trooper to the much stronger Rangers (Basically officers) and two Solar Flares. Tyren felt sorry that he had to take their lives, but he knew that they were murderers to his own kin. Tyren raised his left hoof at the cluster of Equestrians as his hoof glowed slightly with the aura typically found with a Unicorn's horn as a wave of hellfire erupted from his hoof, flying across the small area as it collided directly with the Cluster causing a massive explosion of flame, burning them alive. Screams of absolute agony were sounded across his area, ponies drowning in their own blood. Armor began to melt and many other indescribable atrocities were apparent. The fire began to spread to the corpses of those who died in the shock-wave and those surrounding the group. The Ryborian just stood there, watching what he had just created. Just as some of the Equestrians were stunned at this Ryborian, backing away slowly, Tyren looked towards the right as he seen that the Alliance and what would become the future New Lunar Republic turning the battle around. The fastest pegasi were forming clouds of lightning and creating ice storms crash onto the soldiers below. He watched as he seen the Eriborian himself stand at the front of the army, nearby a Lunar Pegasi and several other heroes, one of whom he recognized as a Deer. Just as the last of the soldiers fell, Tyren felt that something was wrong. The rest of the army, at least 1 million Equestrian soldiers roared as they came across the hill. There were only 3,000 surviving the torrent of Equestrian attacks. It seemed that their fate was sealed. Until Tyren noticed that the Eriborian walked towards the soldiers, his spell-sword glowing alongside his horn. Something big was about to happen.
