"Ooh, the hourglass? Good choice, my friend!" The shopkeeper's laugh would echo around the small, sparsely decorated room. There were quite a few weird bits and baubles on the many shelves, but out of all of them, a large, intricately decorated hourglass had intrigued you the most. It was, simply put, beautiful. Filled with a peculiarly small amount of dark sand, it seemed to be plated with... gold? Both of it's bases were embedded with countless precious stones, making it shine in the little light that entered the small room. "How much?" You would hear yourself ask, reaching out to touch the hourglass, but as you touched it... It started to glow, the jewels embedded into it seemingly shining brighter, and brighter. "Oh, it is not worth much, my friend." The shopkeeper would say, laying his own hoof on the hourglass, and slowly, slowly turning it over. And as he did, you felt yourself turn over with it. "I only ask... for your time." Those were the last words you would hear as the hourglass' magic took effect, converting your time to nothing, nothing more than the sands in an hourglass. And as you disappeared from the tiny room, the shopkeeper smiled at the thought of a job well done, turning the hourglass once more... And reverting the room back to the state at which you had found it. For, yet again, on another dark and stormy night, a familiar voice, and equally familiar phrase was heard... "Ooh, the hourglass? Good choice, my friend!" ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Information!———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Right, so! Why is this thread a thing, you ask? Well, it's because I'm really, really bored! Anyway, this thread was born because while thinking up thread ideas, a certain one came and stuck in my head.... "What if characters relived their lives, only with major, crazy changes? What would they turn out as? Who would they become?" So, I came up with this! In this thread, your character will be sent back to a random point in their past, but this said random point will always be a random, lifechanging random point, a point in time that heavily influenced your character! In general, this could be your character getting your cutie mark; always a great lifechanging moment! But it could also be different, maybe a experience in your character's life that rewrote their destiny entirely! Bear in mind, however, that characters involved will do random jumps from lifechanging moments, for example... One turnover, they could be on the day they got their cutie mark. The next turnover, they could be on their wedding day! "Turnover" is the term I will be using to refer to time warps, or jumps. So in general, this is sort-of a exploration, experimental adventure thread! To see the possible paths your character could have gone down, or maybe your characters would be able to meet up in a point in time where they originally didn't even know each other! Of course, this would work better with characters who already had connections with each other before the time jump, but for ponies who don't know anypony else, this could be your chance to change everything!
