The Lilo and Stich show is far, far, far better than Highlander. Although, Highlander is far better than anything after the first movie.... Everything else? Yes, I will agree there. Still, no explanation why you chose what you chose? Come on! I'd love to see what's going into these picks.
This is an interesting thread considering I actually can't think of many examples of this. Also, and this will earn me a permanent spot in Hell, Not a huge fan of Batman TAS actually. *get shot in the head, frontal lobe pops out in front of me, makes a sound like a cork popping off a bottle While we're on the subject of batman though, i'd say the new "Gotham" show is pretty great
I don't think you guys understand what I'm saying here. This is about movies that have spun off into TV shows, and those TV shows being better (or just as good) as the movies they originated from. "X-Men: The Animated Series", "Batman: The Animated Series" and "Gotham" are NOT spin-offs of the movies. As for "Aladdin: The Series", while I initially thought of putting it on the list, I decided not to since the original movie is based on a fairy tale, and this list is about TV shows where the ONLY source material are the movies.
then explain better in your original post. don't just give a vague description and post some videos. put some heart into it
Since you did mean series based on a movie, here are mine in no particular order: (technically WAS based on the Burton movies... even had Elfman's theme song) (S1 was better since Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves did the voices.) The headline of the OP was a little misleading so remember to include some details for the criteria. @Ridley Wolf- Nothing against Dan Castellaneta but without Robin Williams as the Genie, the Aladdin series was just lacking for me.
Oh, and this one: - - Auto Merge - - I never paid much attention to who voiced what back then. I just remember that I really liked the show.
1-The "Beetlejuice" cartoon was crap. Beetlejuice is made into a good guy, and he's Lydia's best friend. Lydia's suicidal tendencies and depression are brushed over. The Maitlands are nowhere to be found. The movie was a million times better. 2-The Jimmy Neutron "movie", in hindsight, was just a 90 minute pilot for the TV show 3-Again, I'm talking about TV shows whose ONLY source material are movies. Not comics books (Batman), not fairy tales (Aladdin), JUST movies. 4-"The Bill and Ted" TV shows (both of them) and "Riders of Berk" are pretty forgetabble and can't hold a candle to the movies
Again, that was not specified in the OP. And in the case of Aladdin, the movie was only loosely based on the original story so I think it can pretty much stand in its own right.
