Recently the Trump administration has been rolling out proposals for SNAP that require all users to either be working part time, or be in a work program. If you don't work, you will lose your benefits. The other thing being proposed is requiring government employees of SNAP to do drug tests on all precipitants within the program. This is basically to weed out and eliminate all users on drugs that happen to be on SNAP benefits. These policies will garentee that if you don't have a job and/or do drugs, that you will no longer have the SNAP social safety net. Which is pretty much a full on attack on all poor people who cannot afford a lot due to low paying job and/or due to being unemployed. There is also a mention of Republicans voting on stealing 2.9 million in SSI surplus. Basically acting like it doesn't exist and taking the systems helping is out from under our feet.
SSI is social security insurance right? The program is going broke how does it have any surplus in the first place. I hate the stupid Government bookkeepers. Oh their's still a little money in the program it must be surplus...
Honestly I cannot tell you, but this is all to slowly dismantle social safety nets. Just because Trump and The Republicans think we don't deserve it and are lazy.
