Trumps response to try and Ban Immigration have been met with some bad reception, especially after he recently claims that the people of the Philippines are terrorist. This claim has brought a lot of dislike and propaganda in the Philippines that opposes the Trump campaign.

See more information in the link above.

    Yeah, that's not what happened.

He called for a ban on immigration from countries with high rates of terrorism, a list that includes the Philippines.

He said something insensitive that offended folks, because that's what he does. He's kind of an a-hole, honestly.

He did not, however, claim that all Filipinos are terrorists.

I am not surprised to see the Philippines added to a "terror list" by Trump. He often offers fear mongering and opportunistic gestures in place of concrete policy proposals. Given how horribly Hillary Clinton has been discredited (electoral fraud, excessive DNC bias, selling weapons to ISIS, etc.), one would think that this election would be a "slam dunk" for Trump. However, even that is anything but certain, given that Trump is placing unnecessary emphasis on pandering to a demographic (white working class types without a college degree) whose political clout is diminishing. What worked well in the Republican primaries isn't going to work as well with the broader electorate.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, Trump never claimed that Filipinos are terrorists. He simply listed the Philippines as one of several nations with high rates of terrorism-- a fact-- and stated that immigration from such countries should be halted, at least temporarily.

While obviously a controversial viewpoint, it is one that many people-- myself included-- view as a practical measure meant to keep terrorists out of the United States.

Please, remember that racism is a serious accusation, and not one that should be thrown around lightly.

Given his opportunistic nature, it is difficult to tell if Trump really believes the churlish nonsense he is spewing here. Nonetheless, Trump does know how to read to a crowd and pander to its fears and prejudices. Xenophobic and racist elements are present in some of the crowds to whom he is appealing. And it isn't ruled out that pandering to such a shrinking demographic could cost him an election that would possibly otherwise easily be won if he simply focused on lip service to jobs and DNC corruption. Trump's ego could very well end up sinking his campaign.

A good deal of the terrorism existing overseas resulted from the meddling of predominantly white politicians from the United States and Europe in those areas (the Middle East in particular). I wonder what Trump would say if foreign countries enacted a "complete and total shutdown" on whites entering those countries because of the actions of a small handful of whites...
