Defying the odds, the media, and his own party, Donald Trump has done what a lot of people never thought possible-- he won. Like it or not, Donald Trump is going to be forty-fifth President of the United States. So the question is, what's next? Will the GOP, the party that didn't want him, follow his lead? Will the Democrats, who fought so hard to beat him, be willing to work with him? And what comes after a Trump presidency? Will the Dems bounce back, or will the GOP maintain their current stranglehold on American politics? What about the international scene? Will the U.N. accept that a Trump White House won't fall in line? Will we gain new allies, or lose old ones? How will this effect the global economy? Thoughts?
Thoughts? I'm thinking I need to get more sleep. ... Seriously though, I don't give much thought to politics. The entire time this whole Trump-Vs-Clinton thing was going on and everyone was arguing about who-knows-what, I was waiting for the day everyone stopped yammering and moved on with their lives. I don't have the necessary brainpower to contribute anything worthwhile without making someone mad, anyway. Sorry.
For progress to happen, everyone should be willing to move towards a better future. The issue is, people are busy *squee!*ing about Trump wining. Mass protest across the USA, involve "Anti-Trump movement" members who clearly are too butthurt for their own good. It's been all over the news, Facebook, and I had to deal with those *squee!*s earlier here in Los Angeles. Fortunately it didn't stop me and my friend's personal driver from getting to us and taking us to my friend's Sister's place. The sad part though, most of the crowd walking down the street were USC (University of Southern California) students. I personally don't pay attention politics much, but I start paying attention when butthurt *squee!*s start marching down the streets yelling how they are 'morally outraged' by Trump winning the race for president. We would be in even worse shape with Hilary if she won. So we got the better option in the long run, even though Trump tends to act like a dumbass.
Well, here's his 100 day plan. https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/_landings/contract/O-TRU-102316-Contractv02.pdf Some of it I like, some of it I don't. I hope he does live up to what he said he was going to do and that it was not just all a sales pitch. The Republicans have the ball. I hope they run with it and do something constructive. They do not have anyone to blame but themselves if nothing gets done or if their plans don't work. They control most facets of the government right now. President Obama had to deal with 8 years of obstruction. It would be hypocritical if the new regime complains about getting the same treatment. Put your head down and move forward. I hope the proposals and bills are for the good of everyone and that those people we put in power do work together. I am sick of having a stagnant, "do nothing" government and hope that having Trump in office at least kicks them into gear and gets them working.
I think perhaps the most interesting part of Trump's plan is his plan for the environment. His thoughts on global warming are well-known, and I was concerned that he would simply ignore environmental policy. Instead, he wants to withdraw funding from the UN global warming effort, and redirect it solely to environmental spending in the United States. I've said for a long time that US can't afford to fix the world until we fix our own country, so I think this is a huge step in the right direction.
The fact that Trump has now said he wants to keep children on their parents plans available and that pre-existing conditions will still have to be covered makes me feel relief over his planned changes to the ACA. Those are things I was worried about losing for people who need it. I hope the Republican legislature is on board with this. http://www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...dministration-do-obamacare-right-away-n682691
It's simple. Prepare for World War III and/or the Second American Civil War. Because that's exactly what this idiotic ***hole will start. Mark my words. You can Believe That. Get it? Seriously though. It's going to happen.
If it's going to happen it's going to happen because Hilary as Secretary of State sold a good portion of the US nuclear material to Russian and Obama as Preident has ignored the Arming up of China, Russia and Iran. Heck he sped up the arming of Iran. We sighed a *squee!*ing treaty with Ukrainian and whem Russia attacked it Obama did squat. Trump is a bloody idiot, don't get me wrong, but Obama and Hillary got the ball rolling so if it happens it will happen because they got the ball rolling.
Okay, enough. Until and unless you have some actual facts to back up your bull*squee!* statement, keep your damn mouth shut. You're embarrassing yourself. Do you have any *squee!*ing idea how close we were to war with Russia? Russians are celebrating the fact that Trump won. It means that Americans and Russians aren't going to have to die fighting each other now.
I don't think they've found proof it was Soros, but they have found evidence that it planned by someone. Specifically, they found the busses the protesters were brought in on.
I am, understandably, highly apprehensive. Though, UK politics are so muddled and riddled with in-fighting that we might get our own in the form of UKIP one of these days... What I'm not comfortable with are the complete prats using this as an excuse to bully the local muslim or black person they know. Social Media's awash with that right now.
The anti-Muslim thing I understand. I've made my feelings on Islam known. The bullying black people bit, however, is ridiculous. Let's have at look at Ben Carson, one of Trump's strongest supporters, and a key member of the White House transition team. Notice anything? It's pretty subtle, and kinda hard to spot.
The Trump win has cast the future of both parties into doubt, as it has become clear that the people are not happy with the status quo. The Dems are going to have to find a candidate who can beat Trump, which will be difficult if he can accomplish even a portion of what he's set out to accomplish. Bernie Sanders is obviously the best choice, but let's face it... he's already 75. In four years, he'll be 79, ten years older than the oldest president ever sworn in. The GOP is going to have to find somebody who can take over for Trump. In my opinion, their best bet is to find a prominent female Republican (NOT Sarah Palin) and began grooming her for the the 2024 campaign. It became clear in this election that many female voters are so desperate for a female president that they're willing to overlook a lot of flaws.
That's not all on Trump. Obama, Hillary and Bill all used insults to talk about groups they disagree with from Bitter Klingers, to Deplorables, and Rednecks. It's become more and more acceptable to just insult those that have the opposite opinion of you or you just don't like. Just about every day I'm accused of being a racist because the prices are too high at the 7 Eleven I work at or because I'm watching people who we know have stolen from us and they happen to be black. This stuff happens all the time it's just being reported more now so the media can make Trump look bad. Whether or not he won it would still have gone on.
Seriously Lost, your I told you so would have no *squee!*ing weight if it did happen. Stuff has been building up for a while on both fronts and Obama has eight years of blame to Trumps none. Obama has got the ball rolling on so much *squee!* it's not funny.
Yeah, if our country goes to hell in a handbasket, at least you'll be able to sleep at night knowing you were right. Because that's what REALLY matters. ...
