Hey.. It's odd, but based on my own personality I thought I would feel more like Rainbow Dash while joining this community, but now that I'm here, and always felt a certain discomfort for fandom in general, I feel a lot more like Fluttershy. I like music, and the only instrument I can play is my own voice. I don't think it's that bad a voice either. I'm also a big fan of video games and a lot of media in general. I feel video games are just starting to gain recognition as a form of artistic storytelling, and I'm proud to be a part of that process. I have never been part of a fandom before, and the few times I've come close, the hardcore fans always made me feel embarrassed enough to deny it... So this is a first for me. Again, I feel a bit shy, so please bear with me as I try to come into my own in this. I'll try my best to be the best I can be.

I understand what you mean about the hardcore fans of a fandom making you embarrassed, I've been there a few times myself. But here, everyone is so welcoming, so I doubt any problems like that will pop up. I share your opinon on video games too, about them being a mode of artistic story telling. Though I can also relate with you on the shyness, I too am quite shy. But just ease into it and I'm sure it'll become easier for you to open up and such. There is absolutely nothing wrong about being like Fluttershy, Storm. I am very much like you, having never really joined a fan base, but this one is so unique that it's almost miraculous. I can assure you that you'll never meet a more decent, friendly, and even loving group of people here (even if we are all insane), so there's no need to be worried about fitting in because you already do.
