London Pub Party (21st April 2012) Season 2 Finale
***Please promote as much as possible!***

Apologies this wasn't posted here sooner. It has been announced on UKofE since the beginning of the month but only just joined this forum.

    About
The London Pub Party is intended to be a general meet - for people to chat freely amongst themselves. We do have a few things planned:
•A live streaming of the 2-part end of season episode “A Canterlot Wedding”. THE EPISODE AIRS AT 10AM EST, (6PM UK TIME)
•Street Party! Bring your own hats, decorations, and cold party food (but not drinks!)
    •A pub quiz
    •Best of Season 2 (TBC)
    •Episode Riff
    •Drinking games
    •EPR (radio)
•Merch sale (stencilled glasses and full sets of blindbags)
    •Suggestions welcome

In addition, we will have music playing throughout the day, and there will be opportunities for people to show-off their custom ponies. Cosplay welcome, but only if you are happy with scaring bartenders!

We hope to wind everything down by around 10PM but will be staying until 12AM - some people have trains to catch, and there is a 12AM curfew enforced by the Venue for minors (please see below).

    Where?
    The Horse
    124 Westminster Bridge Road
    Waterloo
    London
    SE1 7XG
    www.horsebar.co.uk
    Nearest Mainline Station: London Waterloo
    Nearest Tube Station: Lambeth North

We have the whole ground floor of the venue booked, which is vastly bigger than we need. Facilities include a PA system and “Big Screen” TV of the type used for airing live sports. There is a separate event taking place upstairs in the evening. The windows will be screened off with blinds so the outside world will not be able to see in.

    When?
Arrive from 12PM (Mid-day) onwards. Fun starts at 12.30PM(Optional) Meet at London Waterloo station, we will walk to the venue as a group at 12PM.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Directions
Both Stations are a short distance away. London Waterloo has good connections to the Northern, Jubilee and Bakerloo lines, but Lambeth North is only on the Bakerloo line.

    Walking from London Waterloo Station...
Turn left out of London Waterloo main entrance onto Station Approach. Take the first left onto York Road (A3200) along the west side of Waterloo Station. Keep going until you encounter a huge roundabout. Take first exit for Westminster Bridge Road (A320) under the blue station structure. Continue until you reach The Horse on the left. (0.4 miles)

    Walking from Lambeth North Tube...
Come out of the entrance on the North side of Westminster Bridge Road (A320). Turn right and cross Baylis Road (B300). The Horse is on the right. (50 m)

    What to Bring
·Money – the venue expects to turn over at least £500 over the course of the day. With 60 people that’s about 3 drinks each!
·Cold party food/cake/muffins! (but not soft drinks!)
·Street party style decorations/paper plates etc.
    ·Pony SWAG

    Rules and Behaviour
Obviously, we do not own this Venue - it is only ours to borrow for one day.

    Venue Rules
    - Alcohol may only be purchased or consumed by those over the age of 18.

    - Anyone under 18 will need to vacate the premises by 12am (midnight).

    - No off-premises alcohol or soft drinks may be consumed – that’s what the bar is for!

Note that these rules are set by the Venue themselves - considering most Venues have a strict 18-plus policy, we were lucky here. These rules are typically set by the pub’s licence to serve alcohol, and we wouldn’t want them to fall foul of their licensing laws.

    Event Guidelines
    - Alcohol - It may be fun, but please be responsible! You do not want to risk ruining the fun for yourself, or anyone else. On the other hand, the good people at the Horse are expecting to make at least £500 in sales at the bar over the course of the day.

    - Venue Staff - Please be respectful to all venue staff. If they ask you to do something, or to stop doing something, please obey them. You wouldn’t want the community looking bad now, would you?

    - Courtesy - Please be courteous and respectful to other members and organisers of the event. Everyone is there to have a good time.

    - Clothes - We don’t mind what you wear, so long as it’s appropriate! We want to see your wardrobe! If it has ponies on it, then we want to see it. If your clothes (or lack thereof) is going to get you arrested by The Metropolitan Police, then please reconsider. These guidelines are mostly common-sense, but if we failed to mention them, then who would be the irresponsible ones?

    3. Change to the Northern or Bakerloo Line Southbound to London Waterloo.

    from London Marylebone...

    2. Change on the Jubilee Line to London Waterloo.

    ID
Please note, that if you are over 18, and are regularly a victim of "Challenge-21", that a form of ID will be required for you to purchase and consume alcohol on the premises. You may also require ID if you are going to attend the Venue unaccompanied and are between the ages 18-21.

The following are universally accepted forms of ID:

    ·A Passport (UK/EU/US/Commonwealth)
·A Provisional (Green) or Full (Pink) Driving Licence.
·A Birth Certificate - although I would recommend this as a last resort; they are not easy to replace if lost.
    ·A "PASS"-branded ID Card.
The following are not reliable forms of ID:

·Photocopies of any of the above - occasionally accepted, but are generally rejected as they are easy to "doctor".
·Bank or Building Society statements - these are proof of address; not proof of age.
·London Oyster Cards - railway officials accept these as proof of age, but nobody else does. You might get-away with an 18+ Oyster, but don't count on it.
·Faked, Forged or Doctored Passports or Driving Licenses - most are easy to spot, and can get you in trouble. Please don't give Bronies a bad name by attempting to use one.

Driving Licenses are typically the easiest form of Identification - all pubs and venues will generally take them. If you don't have one of these, then you can use a Passport. So long as you're not planning on flying within the next 3 weeks and are careful, a Passport should be a convenient form of ID.
If you're unsure about it, then it probably isn't a valid form of ID. Do get in contact with us anyway, though, to see if we can confirm this for you.

If you fail to bring any form of ID with you on the day, you may be refused service, and while very unlikely, you may also risk being asked to leave the premises if not accompanied by someone who has the means to prove their age. You have been warned, and we cannot be held responsible if anyone gets turned-away for these reasons. (thanks to David “Alteran” M for this guidance)

Already confirmed on UKofE, but no harm posting here too. I'll be coming plus one mate, but I might be turning up a little later... probably around 3-ish. I might be able to square something with my rowing coach, but no promises. Still, looks to be an awesome day, cant wait!
