Due to a recent technical conflict newly registered users' (before 9/06/2011) profiles may be configured incorrectly. You won't be able to use/see private messages/visitor messages and/or possibly avatars/signatures and similar things that make Everypony what it is. You can manually reactivate and rectify these issues here. The latest announcement scared me to death, I thought I did something wrong when I saw my screen name mentioned in red with an all capitalized "Warning" next to it. I did what I had to do in my settings. Thanks for the heads up.
Good, that was the intention! It's nothing world-breaking but it will make the experience for many a lot less enjoyable - so it's quite important that people take the time to check - hence all the red. It's no problem, I'm just sorry I didn't notice this sooner because as it is quite a few of you registered during this unfortunate period. And here I thought this was all some kind of conspiracy against Oatmeal... Silly me. silly...me... (I'm still onto you Grey... You're just lucky you found a "problem" with the system...) Also, thanks for finding the problem. I hated not being able to offer punch to new people.
Ah... So this is why I couldn't see Signatures, avatars and embedded images. Though now I feel silly for over looking these check boxes because I was looking for them.
Finally. I was hoping for the "Registration deactivated until further notice" banner to be removed ASAP, fast and good job, Grey.
It might have been your "moving name in the 'who's online' box" and the "annoucement stuff" under the banner. You know what big hassle Grey had to modify/revert them back to normal. It might be something more, maybe, as well... We will never know...
It was neither, it was a product or 'add-on' - Luckily it wasn't even one I planned on using so that's all good. And it shouldn't have taken me so long to fix those two I was just. .. Being dumb.
