Foxytail here to apologize for a misunderstanding. It seems that the connection was NOT to a potential webcam hacking software but a harmless picture from an offline server without a domain name. After clearing up this mess, we are certain that nopony was at any risk. As for the program we asked you to delete, it seems there are 2 versions of it; a harmful malware program and a SAFE OFFICIAL program often used with games (for example, League of Legends). You may need to re-install the game or software for those games to work. I would like to offer a truly sincere apology to anyone who has deleted the safe program and will need to re-install it, to anyone who may have been scared, worried or otherwise badly affected by this whole scene and most of all to Skyraze for over-reacting to a minor issue. We at Everypony feel it's better safe than sorry and thus acted swiftly, but now that everything is clear and safe, we hope that this hasn't caused too many problems for our users. Sincerely on behalf of the Everypony.com staff, Foxytail
If you have Pando software on your PC, I recommend doing a scan of your PC using one of the following tools. In addition, please make sure that your current Antivirus software is up to date. The following programs below are NOT replacements to antivirus software. They are simply emergency scanners to help. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ https://www.superantispyware.com/
I've been active on my parents PC lately. I just checked, and Pando Media Booster was installed on this PC. So I unistalled it, and right now I'm scanning.
I had it as well, despite barely ever using my webcam. I'm running the necessary scans as I type this. We'll keep you guys posted on what happens.
Easy, find his email, as most email's provide a computers I.P address, then through some research you could easily find him IRL.
thanks for the notice, i found the thing then uninstalled it, my virus protection says it found nothing, but im keeping my inbuilt webcam turned off just to be safe
I freaked out. I've totally seen multiple posts by Skyraze, but I checked my Control Panel and I couldn't find the program in question. I did a "Critical Areas Scan" of my PC just in case, but it hasn't yielded any disturbing results. Lucky me. Thank you, Everypony staff! You guys rock on many levels!
