I'm practcialy the class clown at my school, I post videos on youtube and seriously, at LEAST 1/3rd of the people saw my videos, now we're getting into thousands of views per video, and I'm thinking, there's only like 400 people going to my school. So I'm going to need to be making some high class videos, anyone got any nice video editing softwares that are free or have a trail? (not like a 30 day, just one that has limited features.) Thanks everypony!
Windows movie maker is free. That's all that comes to my mind at the moment. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Notepad is the best editing software. Features: FREE! Opens ANY FILE! Can edit ANY FILE! Can cause ANY CHANGE! Or, if you're feeling fancy, you can get Notepad++, which has all those features (including being FREE!) and MORE! With Notepad++, you can Do SYNTAX HIGHLIGHTING! Run shell scripts ON THE FILE! It's portable, so you can WORK FROM SCHOOL!
Sony Vegas - Fairly easy to use, has a fair bit of support. It's not too expensive (Under £100 I think) and you can pick it up quite quickly. Most YouTubers seem to use it, so it could be a good consideration for you. If you want to make videos that don't involve a lot of special effects etc, then this is probably the best option. ^^ Adobe Premiere/After Effects - You'll have to sell your family to get this, but it does what Sony Vegas does plus a whole lot more... then with After Effects added it does practically everything. MLP:FiM is made using After Effects to process the videos, but like I said, it's EXTREMELY expensive. Unless you're going to make use of ALL the tools, it isn't worth it. AVID- Most common video editor in the professional industry. Have to say I'm not the biggest fan of it. It's also Extremely expensive, and to be honest, I don't find it very intuitive, but that's just me. It has a lot of potential, and you can do may of the things you can do in Adobe with it. Windows Movie Maker - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umDr0mPuyQc If you need any more help feel free to PM me ^^ I'm starting a University course in Media production and stuff, so I can help you out with some advice and such =D
Sony Vegas: Easy to use, not particularly complicated, and I've seen some amazing things done in it. You can load various other plugins and programs into it, but I forgot how. xD This is what I now use because... Adobe Premiere Pro (CS4): **** this thing. You are forced to use the god-awful Adobe Media Encoder when rendering/exporting your projects. This thing is SO complicated, so you'll end up studying some tutorials at some point. It's great... for extremely specific things. Adobe After Effects: THE best video editing software out there for special effects. However, the overhead and sheer memory draw is staggering, and if your computer has no semblance of balls it won't be able to run it. Basically my issue, but I won't use it anyway since it's probably tied to Adobe Media Encoder. Windows Movie Maker: Free, but that's all that's going for it. I quit using it long before I checked if my h.264 codec could be used. It annihilated quality and format when I did use it (source clips having been Fraps). If you're using a relatively average quality camcorder or something, I highly doubt you'll need the depth and potential found in After Effects, but I've never seen anything cool done in WMM. I mostly use Vegas with the goals of adding music, transitions, imagery, and a little bit of video and audio editing. It's nothing spectacular, but I've also never tried do something more ambitious like an AMV either.
When shopping for the best video editing software, Most of them, need to find an application that offers a variety of useful editing tools, compatibility with many file formats, an easy-to-use interface and strong support options. Video editing software is an application software which handles the post-production video editing of digital video sequences on a computer non-linear editing system. What are the latest price details of video editing software ?
Vegas allows you to add additional codecs and other odds and ends like VSTs. I'd recommend it for just about anyone. For someone who has a passion for extravagant effects or the most varied usage of them, After Effects would probably be better, but you should talk to someone who has used it a good deal since I haven't.
