Filles and Gentlecoats, firstly my deepest apologies for not being on the forums very often. College and my work projects have been keeping me tied down. Right now I'm working on a small budget video game, inspired and based on Friendship is Magic. This game will contain original content, which is not copyrighted by the show; but will still have that FiM "magic" that you all know and love. My small team have a couple of vacancies though. Right now we're looking for talented voice actors to play heroes and bad-guys in the 'style' of the show. The auditioning process is simple. You have to read from a script that will be supplied, and voice all the lines as best you can. Please try to have it sound like the main six if you can. The audio clip should be clear and easy to understand. And, yes; all voice actors will be paid for their work. In the interest of the game, I have to keep information to a minimum as its at a very early stage in development. I hope that you will join me in this adventure, and I wish all of you the best of luck with auditioning. I will answer any questions below to the best of my abilities.
They'll be characters in the script from many shows, including MLP so that I can get a feel for the voice actor's ability, range, and to get a feel for what sound goes with which character. When main six characters are listed it would be useful if you sounded like them. Original characters will be listed to, so please use your creativity to try and create a nice voice for them if you can. PS: The american spell-checker is really messing with my head x.x I'm also looking for talented musicians too to create original music, if you are such a person, please post below ^.^
Makes sense. You're probably going to have difficulty finding VAs if you're only looking for female character voices, though. I've seen even well-known and popular animators struggle to find women to do voice work. Also, that spellcheck thing happens a lot. It's because Europeans tend to use unnecessary letters when they're typing.
They're not. They very clearly stated that they're looking for voice actors, which means the game is still in development. The only thing wrong with this post is that it should be under Collaborations instead of General Creations.
How can I advertise something that doesn't even exist yet. This is a fan creation page - this is a fan creation, in which I'm looking to collaborate with other people. Furthermore, if I wanted to advertise I would have posted the game name, the website, the cost, etc. I haven't done anything like that. I find that very rude you know. Shame on you. I'm trying to contribute something to the community. I thought it would be a fun project too. I'm looking for both male and female voice actors. I know the latter, is rare; but I'm happy to cast males who are able perhaps to make there voice a little higher than normal as female characters too. I wasn't sure if collabs counted in this field.
"Advertising (or advertizing) is a form of marketing communication used to persuade an audience to take or continue some action, usually with respect to a commercial offering, or political or ideological support." Here the action is to voice act. So they're are still advertising. 1. See above 2. How can it be a fan creation when it doesn't even exist yet? I find it very rude that you're using this forum as a way of advertising. It's nice that you have the time to advertise while claiming that you don't advertise.
This is clearly not advertisement. As an artist, and a game developer myself, I am seeing a request for talent... which I wish you luck with.
Please let the moderators moderate. If you find a questionable post, please use the report post button and we will take a look at it. As I see it, he is asking for people to try out as voice actors. He is not selling his game in his original post. And now, continue with your questions about the voice acting and musical needs!
I wish I could help, I really do. Unfortunately I don't think I can do any voices that would fit any of the Mane 6.
Please ignore the grumpy wiking expert. I do maybe a little bit of Voice Work for fun as part of my stream. I could probably help but it's debatable how well I could stretch to sounding female... I could probably do a half-decent Rarity. So, I'll give it a good shot. What's your script, matie? I'll give it a go. A nice villain would probably suit my voice far better but I'll happy aim for Rarity. Come on! I'm pumped now.
I sent you a message a few days ago, The male MLP voices I have recorded are Discord, Ahuizotl, Big Macintosh, Braeburn, Hoity Toity, Double Diamond, Tirek, Jet Set, and Prince Blueblood. You can listen to them here: https://soundcloud.com/nick-core-5/sets/mlp-impressions I also have a playlist of other samples which includes TF2 Scout and Spy, as well as some other random voices I came up with on the top of my head. If you would be interested in a more 'rustic' voice (for someone like a warrior, dungeonmaster, etc...), then the sound clips that begin with "Viking" are for that purpose. You can listen to these other samples here: https://soundcloud.com/nick-core-5/sets/random-voice-samples-51415 Shoot me an email (ncore1995@gmail.com) if you are interested. I am incredibly new to voice acting, only doing the random recordings 3 weeks ago and the MLP ones within the past week and a half; so any feedback is appreciated! Thanks, Nick
That sounds like a lot of fun.. but sadly I am unable to voice act and have no musical ability what so ever : (
