A lot of people are probably aware of this, but for those who aren't, at present there is a virus going around on Skype brought on by a group of malicious hackers. The virus messes with your internet, gives access to all your files, and disguises itself as part of your system from what I have heard. To know if you're infected or not, if you are sending messages to people, like this: Every twenty or so minutes, you probably have it. If you haven't got it, DON'T click the links that someone who is infected have sent, it will release the virus. I'm not entirely sure myself how to stop it yet if you do have it, you may want to look around, although I think a system restore pretty much cures it.
Tahnks for the warning, already got a message like this, but didnt trust it because a german friend wouldnt send such things to me in english.
Blazingdawn got hacked!? D; I don't get on skype much, and when I do, I've never received this message. Thanks a ton for the heads up, though!
Thanks for the heads up. I don't use Skype all that much, I don't think I'd have known any better about the links if it weren't for this. - - Auto Merge - - Thanks for the heads up. I don't use Skype all that much, I don't think I'd have known any better about the links if it weren't for this.
funniest thing: someone waned everyone in one of Thorinair's group chats, and he told me to check it out (group chat on his laptop), 10 seconds later, 5-6 people send me that message.
Thanks for the warning, though I'm not the kind to click on those kind of messages anyways. Though I haven't seen it yet.
Well, I was having trouble with my internet on friday. It seems to be running pretty smoothly after my system restore on Saturday I was prompted to do. I clicked on no links so idk what was up. Could the virus spread without clicking links?
It does not spread without clicking on the link. I have no issues and have not send those messages to others and already got a message containig this.
