It was raining slightly on the first day of the new school year. Star Shimmer trudged along, ducking her head in a futile effort to not get wet. As a freshman at an entirely new school, she knew that adjusting was going to be hard, but she held out hope that the way wouldn't be too terrible... A trio of girls rushed past her, giggling as they went. This made Star smile. Maybe it really wouldn't be so bad... ----- M-R-.-F-A-N- Mr. Fancypants was suddenly interrupted by a knock on his classroom door. He glanced to the side and saw through the window on the door that it was the literature teacher, Medias Res. He waved his hand and motioned him in. Medias stepped inside and noticed the writing on the chalkboard. "I thought I was the one who taught the students how to read..." he remarked with a hint of sarcasm. It was well known among the upperclassmen that Medias Res was notoriously tough on his students, and quite possibly hated all children. Fancypants took it the remark in stride. "Oh no, Medias, I wouldn't dream of stealing that honor from you. I'm just introducing myself." Medias scowled. "Hm." Then he sighed. "In any case, if you see the janitor, send him my way. There's a stain on the floor in my classroom that I find awfully distracting." With this, he turned and left the classroom, almost running into the guidance councillor. "Pardon me, Miss Cadenza." Cadence quickly moved to the side, "Not a problem, Mr. Medias...." After being sure he was gone, she poked her head into Fancypants' classroom. "What was that about?" Fancypants shrugged. "There's a stain in his classroom..." Cadence nodded. "I see. Are you ready for the new year? Principal Celestia will be making her rounds soon before doing the morning announcements." "Of course, Candence. All we need now are the students," Fancypants replied as he motioned to all of the empty desks. "Just think of all the eager young minds, ready to learn!" Cadence giggled. "Of course! Remember to tell them that if they have any problems at all, to come and see me, okay?" With a wink, she exited the classroom and made her way down the hall. Spoiler: OOC School hasn't quite started yet. Feel free to do whatever until the bell rings.
Peter walked through the building in his usual jacket and blue jeans. A nervous expression on his face. He silently thought to himself. Keep to myself, avoid the popular kids, keep to myself, avoid the popular kids
Adam pulled down his hood as he walked through the front doors of the school building. There were rows of lockers, with students nearby, discussing what they think the first day will be like. "Let's see..." Adam said, checking his schedule. "I have Mr. Fancypants for homeroom, but not for another ten minutes. I guess I could strike up some conversation before the the bell rings..." Adam though to himself, before walking further into the building.
Stephanie was sorting out her locker when she saw a group of girls who were obviously the rich, popular, slightly dumb and obsessed with fashion/boys/celebrities look and talk about her. Then she looked at herself suddenly realizing that they must think she was one of them. Seeing as it was the first day Steph dressed up more than usual wearing heels knee length skirt and black tank top. She then approached them as they started to introduce and talk to her. Quickly Steph hid away her Sewers and secrets Roleplay rulebook. She really didn't want to come off as a geek to the girls who were really nice yet vocally irritating.
Peter saw Stephanie talking with the popular girls Remember Peter, these are the kids you want to avoid. Just keep walking, and maybe you can avoid having to take a beating for their sake., he thought to himself.
"I hate rain, I hate rain, I hate rain..." Jessie grumbled as he walked into the school, his hair dripping wet and covering his eyes. He shook his head and his hair returned to it's normal style, and he continued walking, leaving a group of girls dripping wet. He pulled his schedule out of his backpack and read it quickly before starting off towards his homeroom. He quickly arrived at his homeroom, and being the first one there walked in quickly and sat down. "Hello." he said before pulling a book from his backpack and starting to read it.
"Well, I better head off to class. See you tomorrow I guess, as I've already got a club at lunch." she had a firm smile on her face as she walked into Mr Fancypants homeroom and sat down in the front row third from the door. "My names, Stephanie Broad. I've heard a lot of good things about you sir."
Peter walked into Fancypants's room "I'm Peter Parker, nice to meet you sir." Peter then frantically went to the seat nearest the window and sat down. He looked out the window to see the city, full of skycrapers. Well now I know where to go for the test run. He then saw Stephanie It's that popular girl from earlier, just keep low Peter and try not to be recognized.
Adam was talking with some new friends when he looked at his watch. "Sorry guys, I got to head to home room, let's try to meet up later." He said, before walking off. He opened Mr. Fancypant's door. "Morning!" He said, before taking a seat. He opened up his backpack and took out a old, worn out looking book whose title was faded. "Return of the King, man, J.R.R Tolkien was a brilliant man!" Adam thought, opening to the first page.
Fancypants turned to face the two students who enters his class. He glanced at his roster and replied, "Oh, yes. Hello, Stephanie! I was told you'd be in my class. Welcome to Canterlot High!" Then, he spied Jessie. He looked over his roster again, and said, "Let me guess...You're Jessie Lefhaus. I'm pretty good with names and faces. It's good to have you in my home room. How are you two liking the school so far? Have any of you met Mr. Medias Res?" His classroom was beginning to fill up quickly, as two more students came in and sat down. Looking over his roster, he quickly found Peter's name on his list. He replied to Adam with a cheerful, "Good Morning!" ----- "Oh! Hello, young lady! Is there anything I can help you with?" Cadence had just watched a few students enter the front doors and spied a soaked girl with pigtails. She looked upset at something. Star shook her head. "No, Ma'am. I'm fine..." "May I ask your name? I'm Cadence, the Guidance Councillor." "Star Shimmer." This got a reaction from the guidance councillor. Her eyes widened, but she didn't reply directly to the young student. She only said, "It's good to meet you, Star Shimmer. I have to be going now, but if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to stop by my office; my door is always open." Flashing a bright smile, she quickly made her way to Principal Celestia's office. Star sighed and shook her head, wringing out her ponytail in the process. After that, sh checked her schedule and noticed that she would be having home room with Mr. Fancypants. She quietly stepped inside the classroom and sat down, waiting for her name to be called when Fancypants took attendence.
Jacob slowly opened the home room door. He gave a low sigh and walked to his seat in the back of the room and sat down. He opened his back pack and pulled a book out and patiently waited, watching the door. "...Can't wait to get out of here." He mumbled.
Maggie walked quietly into homeroom, her black curls in disarray, and sat down in an empty desk, her books clutched to her chest. She ignored all the others, and adjusted her glasses, not wishing to be noticed. Quickly, she opened her notebook, and began to sketch.
Jacob yawned, fishing a sucker from his pocket. He undid the wrapper and placed it in his mouth. "Mmm... Blue raspberry..." He purred to himself. He chuckled and began to read his book.
"Well. This book is terrible..." Jessie threw the book up. It flipped in the air and landed in his backpack. "First day of school. Don't know anybody. Today will be fun." He made a joking sigh and leaned his head back. "Gonna get home and parents are gonna ask what I did. 'I did nothing because that's how school works.'" He laughed a little as he ranted to himself.
Adam continued to stay indulged in his book. "Oh, is that what happened?" He thought to himself as one of the characters in the book revealed what happened during a particular scene in the previous installment.
Maggie looked up in surprise, and blushed. "Oh.. sorry. I was just sketching other people." she said softly.
"Looks like we have the first in-your-face couple of the year." Peter joked about Jacob and Maggie, unknowingly too loud.
