Discord and Nightmare Moon aside, what kind of treacherous characters do you think should be introduced in Equestria? What style of villain would they be, and what kind of powers would they have? Should there be one particular pony who helps stop the villain? I personally think that Pinkie Pie needs a chance to shine. Rainbow dash has saved the town countless times, Applejack is always doing heroic and helpful deeds, Twilight uses her magic to unravel mysteries and fight evil, and even fluttershy has overcome her fear and stood tall in front of dragons and other ghastly creatures. I feel like either Rarity or Pinkie Pie should have a chance to really contribute and develop their characters more. I would like to see more of Rarity's helpful qualities, other than her generosity. Opinions anypony?
I think the show needs to step back from introducing more villains, actually. Season Three has seen a bit of an over-reliance on villains. I would like to see more Rarity episodes like Sisterhooves Social (still one of the show's best episodes, in my opinion) where we see her develop as a pony. Rarity hasn't done much of anything this season. I would love Pinkie Pie to return to the more caring, light-in-the-dark model she embodied in episodes like "Friendship is Magic part two" and "A Friend in Deed." There really needs to be a Luna/Celestia episode. As for more... personal preferences, I want more fashion episodes someday. "Green Isn't Your Color" and "Suited for Success" were really, really fun episodes. As an aside, welcome to everypony!
I agree with taking a break from making more villains. But if there HAS to be a new villain, I want a recurring villain. Like one that pops up every few episodes, causes some havoc, and the Mane 6 have to deal with it and fix it.
Bow before the true greatest villain in all of Equestria. I'd really like to see Chrysalis again, but if they do bring her back they'd better do it well. The good part about the episode was is that we didn't even know who the villain was until the second part. I'd like to see that kind of thing again. As for new villains, I'll take what they give, I don't like Diamond Dogs too much though.
Well, she and the changlings have come back in the offical Mlp Fim comics made by IDW. Anyway, I'd like to see a villain who isn't instantly defeated by the elements of harmony or the power of love. Someone who's increadably smart and manipulative without the brainwashing powers that Discord has. He would be smart enough to keep the elements of harmony away from the mane 6 {Even keeping them in seperate places rather then just having all of them in one spot} as well as locking up SA and Cadence away from eatchother so they couldn't use their powers against him. The mane 6 would have to use teamwork to eventually defeat him, not him becoming a complete moron at the last second and letting them beat him {Like what Chrysalis and Discord did}.
I think that's what was so good about King Sombra. He had almost no flaws that would amount to his downfall. Had it not been for very quick thinking on SA's part(Throwing Cadence to get the Crystal Heart) he would have won.
Oh please, there's absolutely nothing Chrysalis can do that Discord can't do better. He's better than her at hypnosis, trickery, and even shapeshifting, and he took over all of Equestria without needing ANY minions whereas she had thousands. I think they need to stop with the ultra-powerful villains like Chrysalis and Sombra. Equestria went 1000 years without a single ultra-powerful villain, but now it's had 4 in the course of a few years. They're getting out of the realm of coincidence and going into pure DEM territory now.
Sorry Rarity, people were complaining you took up too much space in season 2 so we sidelined you this time dear, don't worry you'll have an episode in season 4....maybe. XD.
Yeah, but here's the problem with King Sombra: He had no personality to speak of beyond "BLAURGH CRYSTAL SLAVES". A villain that smart who has an actual personality and more things to say would be nice. xD
He didn't need a personality, he was a lingering threat type villain in the story, if he ever comes back and is more active, i'm sure then we will see more of a personality, but as is he was played just fine.
But she only had one episode in season 2 (Sisterhooves Social doesn't count because it was both a Rarity and a Sweetie Belle episode. I only count episodes as being "Rarity episodes," "Applejack episodes," etc if the episode revolves around them and only then. That's why as far as I'm concerned season 1 didn't have any Rainbow Dash episodes, because Sonic Rainboom was both a Rainbow Dash and a Rarity episode).
Lol, that was hilarious. Discord wins, making fun of the swiss cheese legs was just too good. xD Also, I agree, they need to have less huge powerful scary villains. Maybe like, a secret order of ponies dedicated to defending Equestria from things Celestia can't, that mistake one of the characters for some kind of threat and tries to kidnap them? Or maybe just a criminal that runs rampant in Ponyville? Lots of room for conflict that DOESN'T need huge scary OP villains.
Was about to post the same thing. xD While I like King Sombra, I wouldn't really like to see him return without a developed personality. Though, speaking of Queen Chrysalis...how about a team-up between Sombra and Chrysalis, maybe? (heh, King and Queen )
