where did that true brony spirit go?
I'm really confused what's happening on everypony for last month.
Sadness, fights, disharmony... (including stuff going on on skype, msn and pm)
This isn't everypony I joined. Everypony I joined was truly happy place, where everyone was kind (I'm not saying people aren't not kind, but everything seems gray these days), everypony where we would have random fun and playing games, not worrying about some sad friend on other line, everypony where every thread was about happiness, and how ponies have made us happier people.
i'm confused, where did that always happy Zephyr go, that always cool and music addicted Affection go, where did that wise and always loving Lupr go (ok, for you I understand), Sonic that happy caring guy and so on, and so on...

lately, even if I have good things going on during day irl, this place dealing with people's problems and as I always want to help everyone (I really do want everyone to be happy), it just brings me down, however I was happy or hyped that day.
please, I just want to see that old everypony that was full of bright sunshine. I'm not saying for people who really have problems not to share them, or just keeping them away from me, I love to help people, but help me help you feel better by thinking better of yourself, being kind towards each other, and overall, be true bronies. if needed, just watch whole mlp once again, I think it' gives good life guidelines.

I look closely at post's and see if I can in any way make the person happy or at least turn the conversation around, so far I have not seen any need to do that as others have either beaten me to the punch or the conversation just gets dropped, but I got to agree with you on this one it seems to almost be getting worse in some areas but that just me.

I think we all forget that at the end of the day, this is a forum about a pony cartoon. We need to get back to discussing ponies, so we can focus on talking to each other again, and seeing what other people have to say about the show.

I mean, just look. How many of the new posts are discussing the show? Maybe a couple in an entire page. I think we all need to watch a bit of season one again, and get back to that place where we were when we first watched the show.

We need to put the "pony" back into EveryPony.

I love ponies! And I love talking to you all about ponies. But I ignore most threads that scream out sadness to me, simply because ponies make me happy, and I don't want that to change.

I agree. This community is falling apart. It's becoming a double-edged sword to me. Some days are happy, and some days just destroy me inside.

I understand what your saying, coming from my last 2 weeks of sadness and depression. I got a foothold because of some great people here. If it wasn't for you guys, I might still be moping about. I always offer to help, but when I needed, I tried to hide from it.

When I joined this site, I never had any intention of staying. For whatever reason, this site pulled me in. I stayed, made friends, had fun. This was the first place the I felt apart of. Then that first dark cloud came over the site. I helped I few people through some problems, something I'm can't say I'm the best at. I never stayed in a community long enough to see anything like that happen.

I HOPE that this site can go back to the super awesome fun place it was when I joined. It's still super fun, just not super awesome fun with all the sadness. I'm not saying that if you have problems to hide them. I tried, that didn't work.

I recently got myself Pinkie pied by a song I heard hundreds of times. I HOPE everyone follows suit and becomes happy.

    Reality is so cruel.

We're not ponies. We're humans. We naturally tend towards violence. Peace and Harmony are unnatural states for us as a whole. Those who disagree with each other, rather than sort out their differences, would fight about it, instead, and do cruel things. Che Guevara said it best. We must maintain constant vigil in the name of peace. What he means is that in order to help each other, we must always keep in mind the lessons of peace that we have learned. We've learned much about the magic of friendship, and I think we should all do our part to try and employ those lessons into every day life. I admit to not doing it myself, but we must all constantly remind each other, that we are all friends.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately I think the growth of the brony community is closely followed by the growth of the brony hating community. We just can't let them get to us.

Things have just been a bit too immersed in the real world lately.
It's great that people can trust each other enough here to share their problems and experiences, but we also need to make sure we're not taking everything else around here so seriously as a result.

We all started watching the show and participating in the fandom as an escape from reality of sorts, so when we start integrating the real world into it too much, it starts becoming a more serious place, similar to the real world.

Honestly, I think it's a bit of a phase, and after some time we'll get back it being more about fun.

And I just realized I am totally going against what I'm trying to say, and making this response way too serious :p So with that in mind... Spike is best pony! [IMG] (Sorry if that's off topic. but it had to be done.)

The question is; in the beginning, were we really all sunshine and rainbows (LOLPUNS) before?

Everyone has their own problems in life that they set out to resolve. Whether they resolved them on their own, or with us, is the deciding factor.

    The recent string of depressed threads have sparked mixed reactions. These reactions are completely natural of a human being to have;
However, once it is taken too far, it is taken TOO FAR. And at that point, things should be taken into the proper authorities hands.

Well I think the recent string of depression threads is also the result of increased trust in the brony community, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. A lot of us have gone from simply talking about ponies to being able to share our problems on EP.
Maybe there can be a separate category for people who need help rather than just General Discussion? Just a thought.

    Wow... You're right.

I'm sorry. I certainly haven't helped the situation at all.

I think that the problem may actually be that we're too nice- people see this as a kind place of love and support, which I'm totally glad that it is, but they try to feed off of that directly. The pity and/or life problem threads, while making the people in need happier, is bringing the whole lower and lower, with every step.

I'm personally gonna try to be more chipper than usual. Of course, I still think I was pretty well off before, but hey, it can't hurt. :3

If we all at least try to be more positive, even if it's fake, it will (I hope) influence others, and in turn, all of us, to be genuinely happy again.

Of course, I'm still a biased kid, so I dunno how valuable my input is.

Hmm, the problem was that the depressing threads led to even more, a chain reaction if you will.. (hypocrite here btw...)
I believe the best idea is to have a seperate section for personal problems threads....

Well, the real world is a horrible place. As such, I was shamed in so many ways that my body marks me. I get a scar at every problem that I face, and if I take one step wrong, it will make me hated. This place was the only one that didn't hate me. I am thankful for it, and from that, I do very little to the community now. Sadly, but this is a protective measure. I don't want it to repeat, so even my best work is no longer published. I've made at least 4 pony-related songs that I can't release and just because this is the real world. And, to be honest, I hate the world.

If this was the world of ponies, I would probably be in the Everfree Forest, hiding away from everypony.

If the world was a lot better, I don't think I would even exist. And most of you might not, either.

Unfortunately, these problems may eventually lead to hate. And as Ben Sims (mbul*squee!*) nicely pointed out, what happens to the herd when it's full of hate? It can't expand. What happens when it can't expand? The herd dies. While it IS nice to help a lot of ponies out, I never ask for others' sympathy if I have a problem. I'm like Applejack that way. (yes, even THAT thread)

Avoiding the real world is impossible, being exposed to the outside is sadly inevitable.
I agree with SunBurn; the most anyone can do, would be to continue to help in whatever way we can, in the end.
The real world, is... well, I'll simply state that it's not a good place, and corrupt and depressing.
Like I said before, why not just make a seperate section for personal problems, and help... it has worked rather well on DeviantArt.

*edit*...I believe, hate is inevitable to all things as well. If you look around, there's already all sorts of people around here, some who dislike one another, while some have even started relationships together in IRL..
While the hating hasn't begun yet, I think that such a thing is also inevitable; it's human nature.
...I might sound like a bit of a jerk. Sorry about that.

I'm of the same opinion. Friendship is about being there for the people you care about, even when things get difficult. If my fellow ponies trust me enough to open up to me, then I'll be there to listen.

I'm going to listen as well, I just won't open up as much anymore. I just started to fear for the herd since half a year ago, and I still do.
