An OC of your own invention. It's one thing to say that your OC is the something like the cousin of one of the background ponies, because it's plausible and gives them a connection to the world. Making them the child of a main or secondary character, however, is just begging for a Mary Sue label. With that in mind, I'd say you should either create an OC to be this OC's father, or simply leave it a mystery. Lots of people don't know their fathers. Who's to say Equestria is any different? -Edit- Just noticed the bit about being Luna's kid. You may as well chuck this one in the bin right now. There's no saving it.

If you want your ocs father to be a canon character, you have only 3 to chose from: Sombra,Starswirl the bearded and Discord. But I recommend that the father is another oc.
