A question that has plagued bronies for a long time: Why do you watch the show? For me, I find that the characters are funny, the fandom is expansive, and it just gives you an all around sense of a good feeling. To be honest, some of the situations are actually genuine concerns to the modern teenager/child. The writing, the songs, everything about it. But what about you? ((I'm aware that this thread has probably been made before, yet I just wanted to start a new one if an old one existed ))
I remember a guy that made a video of that. He took a more, scientific approach to that question. Why, I watch it? Mostly because I just like it and because of Luna... that's basically it.
Because it's pretty much the only cartoon on television right now that's actually good. Forgive me if you don't agree, it's just my "controversial opinion" I guess.
Well, let's see. It's a cheerful, colorful, bright show with good themes, good storylines, great characters and amazing voice acting. It's also animated, albeit flash, but still better than the 3-D nonsense that we're getting with a lot of cartoon shows these days. It's just a good contrast to relax yourself from the depressing world out there.
I love MLP because of the characters. Twilight is hilarious, Applejack is awesome (I tend to be very honest person like her.), and Applebloom is adorable (But when are they gonna give her that cutie mark she deserves?!). Also, as people have already said, it's much better than things like SpongeBob (I still cringe when I think of the splinter.) or Chowder. The MLP fanbase is also better than the few others I've been part of in the past few years. Like while I was hanging around a couple of gaming forums: Super Smash Bros fans ALWAYS argued about characters (Ridley is always going to be a stupid choice for Smash.), Zelda fans got into wars about Ocarina of Time (I like Majora's Mask over OoT.), and Pokemon fans always said the word "code" (Minor thing, yeah, but I hate the way Game Freak does Pokemon distributions these days.).
