Don't think I've seen this kind of topic here before. What makes your favoriye character (Whether they're Mane 6, Non-mane 6 or a Non-pony character) your favorite? Some questions to answer: 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? I'm just going to stick to my favorite mane 6 character, Rainbow Dash 1.) She's a tomboyish pony who dosen't take any garbage from nopony. 2.) I really like how she acts all cool and tough and dosen't show fear over anything. As well as her cocky attitude, that just adds to her wicked-coolness! 3.) Well, believe it or not, contrary to my answer for number 2, I guess at times I don't like how she boastful and overly cocky she can sometimes get. There are times when it can be a bit TOO much for me. 4.) There wasn't really any single episode that made me like Dash. Just one day I was thinking "Wow! She is a really awesome pony that I would like to actually meet if it were possible!" 5.) Hm. There might have been one where I didn't really like her, but I can't seem to remember which one though.
The Great & Powerful Trixie! 1-2) She's a confident, hardworking showpony with a flair for extravagance! I like that she's a travelling magician trying to make a name for herself. So many cool story possibilities. 3) I don't like how she didn't concede after the Ursa Minor fiasco, which is a disaster created by two idiotic ponies who took her act too seriously instead of just entertainment. 4) Uh, Boast Busters... but there will be more! 5) ... I think Trixie generally gets a bad rap. Her act was to wow and entertain her audience with amazing feats of magic and showmanship, which she succeeded in doing, and only Twilight Sparkle was smart enough not to take her seriously. If it weren't for Snips and Snails, that would have just been the end of it. I think the way the other ponies reacted to her was kind of silly. I don't get angry at David Copperfield for showing off his magic... "YOU MADE A TRAIN DISAPPEAR! YOUR ARROGANCE MAKES ME SO ANGRY!"

What are the features in his/her personality that you like? She has a pink mane, yellow skin, and is adorable. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? Not at all. 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? I liked her since episode 1 when twilight first encountered her. 5.) Ah, this is a tough one for me. There's the one I ought to like best, and then there are the ones I actually like best, you know? I'll just do them separately, I guess |3 Intellectual wub first! Fluttershy! 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? Because she represents all the things about the brony community that resonates with me ^^ She's typically introverted--that is to say quiet and at times distant--yet she's satisfied with her lot in things. Her kindness is indomitable because she's happy to tend to her own garden with her own talents. Her sensitivity towards the outside world only serves to make her seem vulnerable, worth defending, which makes her that much more precious. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? Haha, see above 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE ME D< Hilarious moment. It also indicates an insecure part of her personality that would probably take over if she was ever left alone by her friends. Independence is attractive, and this kind of dependence... isn't <3 But that's awfully analytical for a MLP character xD TBH, I just take the above as a pretty funny joke; I don't let it bug me. 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? Oh, I always knew I was supposed to like her ^^ Then she confirmed that she was everything I'd hoped she'd be and more in every episode she was in thereafter. The really clinching moment, though, came in S1E1 where she is the only pony so secure in her friends that Discord can't throw her into discordance without god-modding <3 That was just cool. 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? Not really ^^ Now for the intuitive love I just can't help <3 Man, it was a hard toss-up between Rarity and Pinkie Pie, but I'm going to have to settle on Pinkie Pie <333 I've already written enough, so I won't go through the 5 for her, but she's just hilarious. You know she is. She's like a perfect blonde on acid in, well, Ponyville. It's just beautiful. I loved her from Giggle at the Ghoulies and never stopped. My only criticism is that she would unbearably annoying in real life |3
Umm... <---- eeyup Why? Because Fluttershy. lol, seriously though, I like her for who she is. She's kind, caring, compassionate, humble and altruistic, although she is extremely shy and introverted. I can identify with her personality type. As far as times I didn't like her go... there is none. Although in "Dragonshy" I thought when her dialogue when she yelled at the dragon was a bit over the top, and in "A bird in the hoof" I thought it was a bit too aggressive for her to steal Celestia's bird, even if she did have good intentions. But that was the whole point of the episode, and she learned her lesson, so it's all good now.
I have 2 favorite characters. I was never able to decide which one I like the most. My first favorite was Fluttershy, and then Rainbow Dash came in to tie the score. My love for the 2 is not very complex, so I'll give nice, simple answers. Rainbow Dash 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? Her need for speed and with her color and mane, she is the representation of the sky itself. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? I love her confidence mainly, and she's tough. She is kind of a tom-boy, but I don't like to call her out as such. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? I don't like how quickly she jumps to conclusions and how stubborn and cocky she can be. She can also be a poor sport. 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? "Sonic Rainboom" gave me a great deal of respect for her and her "Element of Loyalty." I also love the pmv with the song "Awakening" with her. 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? Nope. Fluttershy 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? She is a lot like me when I was in high school. I wasn't very shy, but I was quiet and always did kind things whenever I was given the opportunity. However, there we very few things that just pushed my buttons and made me rage just like she does. She is as close to me as an animated pony character could be. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? Her kindness of course, and her tenderness. She is the representation or the beautiful side of nature. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? She's too shy. I know that's pretty much all of her character, but I love when she has confidence or even goes on a rage. She doesn't act on it much, but my favorite picture of her is the one in my signature. She's just singing, but she has that confident smile on her face and it brings me great satisfaction. 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? The very first video I ever saw of her won me over because she was so adorable, even with that manly voice. If it wasn't for her, I would have never kept looking at MLP videos that day and moved on with my life. The first episodes I saw of her was "Bridle Gossip" and "The Best Night Ever." 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? Nope.
Princess Luna Why do you think her is the best? Not the best pony out there. Fluttershy~ 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? Because she reminds me of me in a way... and she is absolutely ADORABLE. She shows that bravery can come from anypony, even those which don't seem brave at all. And the stare.... if that ability can make both an adult dragon and a cockatrice scared, that is a potent move. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? Her personality that she will and shall defend her friends although she is timid, and able to connect with nature so easily. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? Bursting through the door saying that line.... YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE ME O_O She's scary... and just because a few animals didn't want to befriend her in The Best Night Ever.... 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? Since the very beginning, but I especially liked her in Dragonshy and Stare Master. I also absolutely loved her in the Return of Harmony Part 1, she made Discord resort to cheating :Trollestia: 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? The Best Night Ever... made her scary....
I have 2. Rarity 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? I don't believe she is the best, everypony equal everypony loved after all, but she is my favourite. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? A foundation of her character for me is that she's interesting. I find her artistic creativity something not just relatable, but as stated, interesting. There's almost a story to it in itself for me, how she has this long term goal of becoming a famous fashion designer, yet is stuck in the small town of Ponyville. I find that pretty interesting. Another aspect is the relationship with her sister, and the hinted at relationship with her parents. It's clear Sweetie Belle constantly wants to imitate her big sister, yet Rarity takes more of a mothering role than a sister, and I find that rather adorable. As for her parents, I did get the immediate impression that she felt somewhat ashamed of her parents. They clash with her classy, sophisticated demeanour, and I'm sure Rarity likes to give the impression that her parents are well off and just as important as her, perhaps regal and what not. Generally her family ties interest me. The final thing I can think of is her design. I really like her design. Other than apparently looking like a marshmallow, I do feel her colour scheme is easy on the eye, and just looks pretty snazzy. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? Rarity used to be my least favourite, and that was because I felt she was too typically *squee!*y and feminine. I didn't feel there was much more too her than the glamorous fashion type akin to previous generations of My Little Pony. Obviously I know that's not the case now, although I'm still not really fussed on her nit picky attention to detail, as seen in 'Look Before You Sleep'. 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? Funny enough, other than the bits prementioned, I didn't find her all that great in 'A Dog and Pony Show'. It's weird, as that's usually the episode that earns Rarity recognition by those who weren't fussed on her at first, but I just didn't really feel anything from the it, it wasn't suprising or necessarily playing on the characteristics of her that I like. Celestia 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? She controls 99.85% of the Solar System and rules Equestria. She is literally best pony. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? How incredibly powerful and mythical she is. Celestia is one of the most fascinating characters in the show. Other than the fact that she's completely badass, all the stories and legends, such as the banishing of Nightmare Moon, the imprisoning of Discord, just puts it into perspective that Celestia is a several thousand year old being with almost omnipotent powers, and has witnessed more than any other pony in Equestria that has ever lived. That said, despite certain fanon memes, she is not dictorial or malevolent at all. She is a fair ruler, and is in fact very lax and easy going. It just gives off the aura that she is really wise and mighty, and I'm fascinated by that. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? Sometimes when the writers force her character to act the playful princess, or as some call it 'trolling', it gets a bit cringeworthy, but you have to remember that it is a kid's show, ultimately. 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? She used to be my favourite, so right from the beginning. 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? Not really. On the counter, her dramatic entrance in 'Lesson Zero' was incredible, and so was her response at the end.

First : her coloration ; black skin, dark blue wave-like and shiny mane, purle Eyelid and lashes : perfect color association - I really like her voice - She's the bad character - She's the sister of celestia ; it's that i really love : the contrast between them, it's the day and the night. For me, Nightmare Moon it's Luna 20% cooler. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? Not in her personality but, after imprisoned for a 1000 years, she would have been able to anticipate the threat from the 6 elements. 4.) Why Scootaloo, of course! 1.) Why do you think him/her is the best? She stands up for her friends, even when I could see her being made fun of more so than them, with her inability to fly. That, and she rarely let's herself get into fights with her friends, even when they say mean things about her. You never see or hear about her parents, so its easy to assume that she doesn't have any (until Hasbro changes that LOL), which makes me think of her as incredibly self confident, and strong willed for someone in her position. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? Her confidence through troubling circumstances, and her loyalty to her close friends. She seems to have a lot of the traits that made me like Rainbow Dash the most in the earlier episodes of the show, yet without coming off as being full of herself like RD sometimes does. She might be ten percent cooler than your average pony, but she won't shove it in your face, or try to impress you by being cooler than someone else. She's just being herself. 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? I think she should tone down the Rainbow Dash fangirl thing a bit, and see that there are plenty of things she could learn from the other ponies in Ponyville as well. It's good to have an idol, or a hero, but sometimes trying to be exactly like them makes it hard to just be yourself in the end. I wouldn't want her to end up like that someday. 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? Probably Show Stoppers, because it was the first episode that let you see her personality, aside from the little bit you get to see in Call of the Cutie. 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? If there is such an episode, it would probably be Owl's Well That Ends Well, which is one of my least favorite in general as well. The part where Scootaloo so happily takes out RD's trash made me laugh, and feel sad at the same time.
Rainbow Dash, still of course. Second favorite is Twilight, followed by Vinyl Scratch. Reason: -TwiDash is best ship.

But, it makes me mad that Luna only showed up only two times durring the whole show. Once every season. I HATE THAT!!!
I'm going to do a Rainbow Dash one. Rainbow Dash: 1.) Why do you think he/she is the best? She has a great character design, excellent voice acting, and has a great combination of foolhardiness and insecurity. 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? Weirdly, not so much the loyalty part (although it's a good trait) as her Leeroy Jenkins attitude and cockiness. Partly because it's laughable in various situations (attempting to beat the tar out of a dragon 100x her size, for example), and partly because I think it's sweet how she's trying to hide how insecure she really is. Plus, she's arguably just as much of a drama queen as Rarity; she thinks Celestia will banish her if she doesn't pull off the sonic rainboom, and, when her wing gets stuck under a rock, assumes she'll be there forever (despite her friends all knowing where she went, so being likely to form a search party after a while). Actually, from that same episode, I do like that the idea of starving to death hasn't occurred to her; she just assumes she'll be stuck there for an indefinite amount of time. That's right, she's so cool that death isn't even an option (also, it wouldn't fit in with the kid-friendly nature of the show). 3.) Is there anything in his/her personality you don't like? Not really. She can be a jerk at times, but I mostly just find it too funny to be annoyed by (eg: informing Twilight that she'd never qualify to be her pet because she doesn't understand the difference between awesomeness, coolness and radicalness, or when the dragon said she'd kicked him and she gave that proud little nod). 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? Oddly, I was fairly underwhelmed by her at first (except for loving her colour scheme). I think Dragonshy sealed it for me, her stage fright in Sonic Rainboom added a bit of depth to her character in terms of her not being as confident as she makes out, and May The Best Pet Win showed her learning a lesson and admitting she was wrong, which shows that she's not completely without humility. 5.) Are there any episodes that made you dislike him/her? Not really. Wasn't a massive fan of Fall Weather Friends, but that's mostly just because I don't like the episode.
Fluttershy: she's cute even when she's angry. she's (along side with Twilight Sparkle which is my 2nd favorite) what I would imagine as perfect girl (by personality) irl. I suppose those are 2 things why she's my favorite pony

Because Pinkie Pie! 8D Seriously though, she's awesome, and I can honestly say she's been one of my favourites since the beginning (along with the rest of the mane six really). Not only is she nearly the cutest pony[size=-2]--second only to Fluttershy of course--[/size]but she's hilarious! Pinkie Pie's silly moments are some of the best parts of the episodes she appears in. It took me a while to realize that she is best pony, but obviously I know better now~ dem eyes 2.) What are the features in his/her personality that you like? She's so ~random~ :3 Also I LOVE the interaction between her and other ponies. Particularly between Pinkie and Rainbow, as well as Pinkie and Twilight. I'm probably of the minority that loved "Feeling Pinkie Keen". Her depression in "Party of One" made me sad, but I didn't dislike her in that episode, so...no, not really. I do think she needs to be a bit more observant of others' feelings though--sometimes she seems to assume that as long as she is having fun -> everypony is having fun, even if that isn't true. Case in point "Luna Eclipsed"; she assumed Luna understood that it was all just for fun. Silly filly! ;_; 4.) Which episode made you like him/her, or have you liked him/her since the beginning of the show? Hmm, I pretty much thought she was alright since the beginning. I think it was "Griffon the Brush Off" that made me realize how awesome she is. I personally find Rainbow Dash to be best pony. 1. She loves to fly, and my lifelong ambition is to become a pilot so it should be understandable that I like her, her color is awesome, she's tomboyish (IRL really girly-girls just annoy me, I want someone I can relate with), and like me, she loves racing. 2. See question one. Something I'd like to add to that though, is that she has a strong will and never gives up (unless Rarity grows wings). 3. Applejack and Twilight pretty much said what I am thinking in "May the best Pet Win!" Sometimes she's so obsessed with things being awesome, she forgets what is really important. 4. Originally, Twilight was my favorite, but over time (namely after "fall Weather Friends") I started liking AJ and Rainbow Dash a lot more, and I liked all three about the same. But Dashie was a Pegasus pony, and her love of flight really made her grow on me. Also, I felt kind of bad for her, what with all the [CENSORED] she gets from both canon and fanon. I mean, she goes insane in both Rocket to Insanity and Rainbow Factory, she gets called a lesbian left and right, gets sat on by Pinkie, has a "Therapy" session from Twilight, has to deal with Rarity showing off her wings so much and causing her to Panic in "Sonic Rainboom," and do I even need to mention Cupcakes? Then there's My Little Dashie. The one great fanfic involving RD that didn't make her go through a complete [CENSORED]-storm, and will literally kill you if you HHNNNGGG from just seeing Fluttershy. I will admit it, Manly tears were expelled from my optical sensory organs the day I read that story, and I can't imagine anyone not liking RD more after that story. It just made me want to either be in Equestria, or for her to come here. And that's how Equestria was made!
Ooo, I find it so hard to decide! I do like them all. But I guess my fave would have to be Fluttershy. Then after it would be either AJ or RD. 1.) Fluttershy is my fave because she is like me. We are both quite cowardly and shy. I guess it is a silly reason to like a character but there you go. 2.) Her kind and nurturing nature. 3.) I suppose I don't like...uh...I don't know. I guess I don't like her submissive ways, but I wouldn't like her as much if she didn't have them. 4.) I am not too sure. It might have been the Discord episodes, though I think I liked her before that. I know it was after the first episode, as I liked Twilight. 5.) Not yet.
