So, the Pony App game isn't all that great due to a large paywall smacked in the middle and it's not to different from other build your town games. I was really excited about the game too, only because at first I wasn't too sure of what to expect. Since then though, I have been thinking of how a developer could actually make a licensed Pony game that isn't just re-skin of an existing game. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that it might actually be pretty hard. A lot of mainstream video games have violence as their primary method of problem solving and it works when your main character is a space marine bounty hunter off to complete his mission, but what about ponies? Sure there is violence in the show but it's never the main focus. Most villains are defeated by just standing up to them and in the case of world-threats, zapping them with friendship. So the question is, what would be your ideal official Pony video game? I would actually really love to explore Equestria in a kind of Skyrim like game but just minus a lot of the combat. You know, explore and use your special talents to solve potentially dangerous problems in non-violent ways. A big emphasis on puzzles, character customization, and multiplayer (so you can play with your friends).
Yeah, I'd kinda like something like this too. Talkin' about combat, perhaps it could be... Erm... Non-violent combat? *Shrug* I'm just thinking, there's a few games where you can make friends with your enemies instead of just killing them. Epic Mickey, for example, lets you use thinner or paint on enemies- While thinner defeats the enemy, in most cases paint will befriend the enemies, so they help by fighting for you. Perhaps a Pony adventure game could have combat like that, where you have to befriend your foes. Friendship's kinda the theme of Friendship is Magic, so maybe it'd be more relevant than bashing your enemies around the head... Just a thought, really...
I actually really love Epic Mickey because you can approach situations non-violently. The only thing I didn't like was that it was and virtually no effect on how you approached problems, unlike some of the puzzles in the game where thinner was faster but paint was more creative. I guess what I really want from a Pony game is one where the values from the show are actually give some kind of respect and not just replacing the words "friendship" where ever other games would have "kill". Incidentally, a Mario Party pony game would amazing. Anyone know if there are any fan games like that out there?
Fallout Equestria. Exactly like Fallout 3 AND they are actually making it Proof and homepage here: http://equestria-softworks.deviantart.com/
This. In a game format. So... pretty much Fighting is Magic.
I would like to see Hasbro vs. Capcom, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic vs. Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic vs. Dragon Ball Z and My Little Pony Friendship is Magic vs. Naruto Shippuden although I know that none of those games will ever be made.
I can only really see Transformers, MLP, D&D, and Magic being the only viable franchises to be in this game. Which actually, wouldn't be half bad.
Damn, ZoeTrent0123, you really hit the nail on the head with that one. Hasbro vs Capcom is an amazing idea, made even more amazing by the fact that such a game is actually feasible. This needs to happen.
LPS Characters are too small. Smaller than even Rocket Raccoon. And I've never watched Pound Puppies so I can't really say how viable they'd be in a Fighting Game.
