Basically what are your views on the past generations of MLP animations? As for me I would say G1= Decently entertaining 80's cheese, especially the pilot. G2= MEH, It's Watchable, kind of like the Slice Of Life stuff, but a bit overly cheesy even more so then G1 at times, guilty pleasure I guess? G3= REALLY REALLY BAD. But enjoyable in a sado-masochistic, I wonder how crappy it can get kind of way, lol. G 3.5= Lazly flash animated baby ponies & Twinkle Star Adventure.... BURN IT BURN IT WITH FIRE!!! So yeah thats my personal view on the past incarnations of the series, how about you guys?
I really could not stand any of it. I cached a few episodes of G1 when it first aired and being a 7-8 year old boy it almost killed me. I didn't even think about MLP for almost 25 years (honestly, I thought about rutabaga more often). After I started watching FIM I went back to see if I had maybe judged it too harshly, nope still hate it.
G1- I watched part of it, and t was... Horrible. Just horrible. At least in my opinion G2-Never seen, so wouldn't know. *shrug* But this generation was around when I was a lil' kiddie, and I remember how much I disliked the adverts, if that counts for anything... ? G3- I didn't mind this one as much as G1... It wasn't good, but it was't terrible. It was ugly though- a bit like all the previous gens. G3.5- Haven't watched, but heard it's really really disgusting. I wouldn't know myself though. G4- My Little Pony G4 is yes. All of it. Still iffy about the toys, but everything else is yes.
I don't particularly care for G1 or G2. I don't hate them at all, but i also wouldn't watch it if i was asked to. G3 and 3.5 are shows i wouldn't even show to little kids! It might be designed purely for little children, but that doesn't mean it has to be utterly brainless. Cartoons for little children, especially toddlers, should be designed to help them grow up. Not make sure they stay on the same level they already are.
