On furries. Do you like them? Or do you hate those furballs with a passion?
Not against furries, but I just don't get the hype over them. They are actually pretty cool, when they aren't posting r34/*squee!* crap. And I think their costumes are pretty nice looking, albeit a bit creepy.

Okay, time to clear some stuff up. The "costume" is called a fursuit. The fursuit is usually associated with the fursona of their creation. A fursona is a furry's persona, or personality. These fursona's are usually bound to the same personality type as the person who created it. When the wearer or "suiter" wears the fursuit, it is like they are acting like their fursona. Just to clear that up.

Me, I personally am furry. I care that you want to understand what non-furries see them as. I also care that you get the straight story from one too. Just to fully understand what we stand for and who we are. Basically were just like everyone else. We're here to live, and I think we're pretty damn awesome!

It'd essentially be like a brony dressing up in gear that might make them resemble their OC so that they could RP them at a con or something similar.

I'm totally fine with furries. Some of their artwork is some really cool stuff, and their musical artists make some interesting compositions too. Something I find a little creepy, though, is the masses of dress ups at Anthrocon. I know, this happens at bronycon too, but in both instances, it's a little odd. In my own opinion, it looks like people are attempting to replicate a football mascot in the form of whatever-the-heck-they-want.

I have nothing against people who dress up, but I'm just saying I would never do it myself.

Ohhhhhh boy. Bringing in the furries. Such thread I thought I would never see here.
    My thoughts on furries are:
Its there because it needs to be there.

    Fun fact: I'm a furry.

I don't mind furries, and have admittedly dipped into the fandom a bit. It seems like lately it's getting difficult to find those in the fandom who aren't obnoxious, which puts a negative image on the fandom itself. As for the fursuits, I'm not a huge fan. Most of them just seem way to mascot for my liking, but there are definitely some that are really incredible.

I'm a fan of furries, but that's the short version. The quality and scope of artwork within the title is absolutely massive. Their reputation is also equally as expansive due to a lot of artists being fearless in creative freedom. As a result, there's a lot of NSFW art, very weird stuff, and just about anything you can think of.

I'd link one of the most famous furry art sites, but it has several NSFW sections to go with its equally as large as the SFW ones. Even if none of the alternative stuff is your cup of tea, you can pretty much find anything in their anthro styles of any creature. I, personally, respect most furry artists. I try not to judge them based on what they draw, but thankfully their most unusual and/or provocative pieces are very difficult to find without looking specifically for them.

Furries are cool, I'm a furry.

I don't like the whole fur suit thing.

That sums it up for me I think. I doubt I need more.

I don't really understand the whole thing since I actually rarely even hear the term. From what I've gathered, they don't really bother me. As long as they enjoy themselves.

Not sure if you could consider it the same thing, but cosplayers usually freak me out. Especially when they do it in public places.

Fun fact: Bronies are considered to be furries. That's why so many hate them.

    Me, I don't really care.

    Nothing against them.

I have also arguebly become a furry, depends on what the defination really is and if Equestrian Ponies count. In a way they are both anthro and not at the same time, The ponies sure do have human traits but calling them half human might be a stretch, they are more like intelligent aliens. I like that though, makes them kinda exotic.

    I have nothing against furies.
all ones i've met were ok people.
I don't know if that would count as furry, but I think it's .....*ahem* attractive if girl wears fox, cat (or something similar) ears hair accessories, and/or ..*ahem* pants with little tail.
(man, seems like I'm catching some cold here)
anyway, I'm ok with them, they have every freedom to do and like what they are doing. if they are not hurting anyone, I don't see where the problem is.

I don't mind furries in the least; As far as I see it, they are just doing what makes them smile. From the ones I know (heck my ex-gf is a furry), they all seem pretty nice and just like an occasional hug now and then.
^My thoughts exactly. Go nekomimi. Only thing I have to add to that is a girl who can purr in your ear *shivers* drives me nuts xD
